Namco Museum Volume 3 from Namco
(Japanese) Available 6/24 at $65
|
|
Six more classics are revisted in the latest volume of the popular
Namco Museum series. Many customers have told me hat this
was the one they have been waitng for because Dig Dug is in
here. Dig Dug featured you as a miner who had to burrow
through mulit-colored sand in order to blow up "Pookas" and fire
breathing dragons. Pookas were little circular fellows with aviator
glasses and an odd way of moving about. You also had rocksat
your disposal which you had to tunnel under and then move out
because the rock would plummel down and crush everything in
its path. Dig Dug was a very cool game and an arcade perfect
version for the SONYPS should make many an arcade afi-
cionado happy. The other titles in this one are: Galaxion-the clas-
sic shooter which pitted you against waves of enemies, Ms. Pac-
Man-the fairer of the famous maze inhabiting couple, Pole
Position 2-an updated version of the racing classic, Phozon-a
Microbe action game and finally Tower of Drugga-a precursor to
Gauntlet. Namco Museum Volume 4 is two months away, we look
forward to giving you the scoop on this one when it is available.

King's Field III from Software, Inc.
(Japanese) Available 6/24 at $68
|
|
This year's update to the popular King's Field RPG series looks
very similar to the KF's that ahve already been released. KF is a
first person perspective role playing game where you can wander
around, attack your enemies, collect items, talk to shop keepers,
etc. Standard RPG stuff that goes by a tried and true formula.
Sales for this new King's Field should be fairly good as new ROGs
always sell well. The name recognition of King's Field will also help
a bit in moving this one off your shelves.

Strikers 1945 from Atlus
(Japanese) Available 6/28 at $58
|
|
Atlus looks like it will be the company to look to for shooters of
the Saturn these days. 1945 is a very popular arcade shooter in
Japan and it should make its Saturn appearancewith all of its
arcade power and power-ups intact. Remember 1943 from
Namco/Midway in the mid-80's? That was a pretty intense shooter
with wave after wave of WW2 fighters and bombers trying to take
you out while you yourself went on a rampage against enemy
installations and battleships. 1945 features more of this but with a
lot of graphical improvements, special effects and power ups.
Most people enjoy a good shooter once in while, its sort of like a
staple in the video game market.

Fatal Fury III from SNK
(Japanese) Available 6/28 at $64
|
|
The next SNK to Saturn conversion looks very good and is a lot
closer to the Neo-Geo original than SATURN King of Fighter's 95
was. The characters look well well rounded, like the original Neo-Geo
game. The SATURN KOF95 featured characters that looked a little
skinnier than their Neo-Geo counterparts. The Fatal Fury collection
has been popular among fighting games fans for many years now
and Fatal Fury 3 on the Saturn should sell pretty well among the
Neo-Geo crowd who has moved on to the SATURN or the SONYPS
and among fans who never got a Neo-Geo because of its high
price and niche status but loved the games on it by playing them
in the arcades. Neo-Geo is now for the masses on the Saturn.

Nintendo 64 System from Nintendo
|
|
After waiting about 2 years for it to happen, the moment is finally
upon us. The buzz that we got from friends and associates who went to the
E3 show a few months back was that Mario was king of the show and that
the Nintendo 64 would be a really amazing system when it came out. NCS
will start selling the Nintendo 64 this week and our pre-order list is
pretty...well, big. While we have a very good idea of the number of units
that we will have available, we are not certain if there will be any
delays or short shipments in the next few days from overseas. We would
like to assure all of our customers that their pre-orders have been noted
and that we will be filling them to the best of our ability. For now,
this sheet will list our prices for the system, what will be available
for the system in terms of accessories and finally, the games that will
be out.
|
Nintendo 64 Retail Pricing Schedule
| Name/Description | Price |
| System w/1 Game | $589 |
| System w/2 Games | $689 |

| Syogi (Chess) | $129 |
| Controller (Red, Green, Blue, Black, Silver, Yellow) | $59 |

Many of our customers have already put in pre-orders for these
systems along with the games and accessories. We can guarantee that
all units will be shipped out the day that we get them and an invoice
for the shipment will be faxed to you along with the UPS tracking
number. Note that NCS has added staff and will be adding more staff
over the course of the summer so that we can serve our customers better.

Torico from Sega
(Japanese) Available 6/24 at $60
|
|
Torico is an excellent looking 3-D adventure that is similar to D in
its presentation. Where D relied mostly on polygon based graphics,
all of the graphics in Torico are rendered and realistic looking.
Torico will do well thanks to its graphical prowess and should prove
to be an interesting game.

Debut S from NEC Interchannel
(Japanese) Available 6/28 at $60
|
|
Graduation 2 is very similar to Debut S. Graduation 2 featured
you as a schoolgirl who had to excel in her studies, in her physical
education, the social whirl, etc in order to win the game. Debut S
has you running around as well, going into contests, dealing with
everyday situations and of course, going to school. This one looks
like it will sell well because NCS has discovered that there is a small
but very devoted customer base in the USA that enjoys these games.
Debut S features the ubiquitous nude (in these types of games at least)
of the girl characters during the cut scenes.
