Despite dazzling CG wizardry and graphical leaps made in recent years, an old school animated RPG such as Lunar Silver Star still holds big appeal. Rehashed a few times now on various consoles, the newly revamped GBA release boasts large sprites, very clean cinema stills, and impressive detailing in-game. Due to the 8 megabyte cartridge rom size limitation, vocal stylings and animated cinemas are gone from this version but the game retains the charm and overall experience of it's big console forebears.

NEWS Arcadia Magazine

May 2002

The latest issue of Arcadia turns away from the coin-op realm for a little while and focuses on new developments for the Gamecube. A photo of the GC ethernet adapter is shown, which fits neatly into a bay underneath the console. With Phantasy Star Online shipping in a few months, the adapter will dovetail nicely with any bundles Sega may offer. A few photos of upcoming GC games, tidbits on GC market share, and a feature on Amusement Vision round out the article.
Paging ahead, the magazine offers a few sketches and photos of Gundam Pilot Academy, a new sit-down Gundam simulation game and fighting technique for warriors in Soul Calibur 2. Coverage on Guilty Gear XX continues with copious screenshots - it's tempting to import this one but we'll resist for now. Konami's dog simulator Dogstation gets some attention; canine gameplay rules and photos of leashes to restrain your dog are shown. Poop training also appears mandatory to keep your pooch from soiling sidewalks and other public areas...
Another Ikaruga strategy guide gives readers hints and tips on finishing another two stages of the game. This month's poster features Tekken 4

NEWS Upcoming Import Schedule  [JPN]

The start of summer appears blockbuster-free this year with no heavy hitters scheduled for June. There are some interesting titles which will do well and a Gamecube import schedule is forthcoming. World Fantasista marks Square's entry into soccer games. Previous forays by the company into gaming genres best left to others make WF a dubious prospect. Yes, it's carrying bad baggage but we'll preorder it mindlessly regardless because it's from Square. We'll never learn...
