Runabout 3 for Playstation 2: US$53

Playstation 2: Runabout 3 Neo-Age [JPN / US$53]

The third Runabout hands control of some exotic vehicles to the virtual driver and unleashes utter rampage on the fair streets of New York City. Seventeen transports ranging from a fire engine, military tank, power shovel, Rolls Royce and Formula racer join more mundane vehicles such as police cruiser, limo, and what else, yellow taxi cab. Traveling in a wayward manner through the concrete canyons of Gotham, players are tasked with destroying targeted marks (seen as flashing objects on the screen map) within a certain amount of time and then racing to a final destination. Along the way, maniacs may drive irresponsibly and crash into anything and everything, including fellow motorists. When the police catch on to your shenanigans and set up a blockade, it's your prerogative to plow right through and send the law scrambling. Your hapless vehicle takes damage with each collision and fenders are pushed in, hoods pop up, steel gets crinkled, and your car will eventually wobble like a creaky tin can if you're overly negligent. When your car smokes out with billowing black clouds and coughs it's last, you'll know you've killed it with nothing less than your driving skills, or lack thereof.

The Camera Man for Playstation 1: US$23

Playstation 1: The Camera Man [JPN / US$23]

October 1992, Irem's Gekibo is released on the PC-Engine. 10 years later, it's brought back on the Playstation for another run. As a newspaper photographer with an overbearing editor, David Goldman's job is to capture wild and woolly scenes for the camera. In the first take, our intrepid photographer stalks through a park-like area where he'll get a chance to snap UFOs, an alien in a man disguise, a leering flasher, a girl doing a Marilyn impression over a gate and other wackiness. All the while, David leaps over missile-like skateboards and ducks under oncoming spheres. Get hit and he'll lose 5 snapshots as well as precious time to do his thing. The second level features an inner city scene where fights break out, criminals walk the streets, and cars crash into poles. Knives, flower pots from ahead, and basketballs are the dangers in this level.

Final Fantasy XI + HDD Bundle Madness...
NEWS: Final Fantasy XI + HDD Offer [JPN / US$300]

A supplier updated their offer for a PS2 internal HDD + FFXI bundle overnight for US$300 but we're not particularly enthused by their terms. In addition to a minimum order quantity that we have to fulfill, pricing is high for what is essentially a US$90 hard drive, a built-in US$30 network adapter and a US$70 game. However, if the offer sounds reasonable and you're good to go, feel free to contact NCS and we'll reserve one for you. Our expected delivery date stands at May 30 but if FFXI is not vital to your existence, we recommend waiting a bit for the gouging to subside before jumping in.

Dreamcast: Collection Re-releases [JPN /  Click images to buy]

All of Sega's re-releases of their game titles are identical to the original printings of the games. VOOT includes the thick user manual with the special shiny cover and all of the original inserts. The Sakura Columns 2 CD has the nice silkscreen design, and all of the product codes are the same. So, what is different this time around? Just a little sticker (please refer to the illustrative photos to your immediate left) on the upper left corner of the outer wrapper which states "Dreamcast Collection" and a sticker on the back of the outer wrapper which replaces the original UPC code along with a new "HDR" product code. That's all. Remove the outer wrapper and you have the original game. It's a boon for new collectors who relish first printings but weren't able to find/buy these games before this installment of re-issues.

Playmore does a little more (sorry) with their Dreamcast re-releases by issuing new game covers. Posted below are the original releases next to their new faces.
