PS2: Critical Bullet: 7th Target  JPN  $60  ORDER
The Tokyo of the future suffers under the brunt of criminal forces and an ineffective police department gives free rein to perpetrators. Enter freelance contractors who seek out the bad guys and bring them in for a reward. Reprising her role from the Dreamcast game Bounty Hunter Sara, the pouty Sara D. Fitzgerald, bounty hunter extraordinaire, leaps into seven new scenarios where she infiltrates, solves crimes, and dispatches henchman in a bid to ultimately topple a criminal empire. Static screens coupled with dialogue and spot animation make up a good chunk of the game but artistic camera pans, enticing sound effects, and fluidly animated interludes give the Critical Bullet experience a somber cinematic look, feel, and measured pace. Players interact by choosing paths and actions for Sara to take. When faced with a critical decision, the right choice allows Sara to proceed and continue her investigation. The wrong selection means a bullet for our sleek heroine. Decisions are given a time limit, shown on a digital timer and our heroine is shown as "now thinking" during other choices during the game.
