  PS2 Glass Rose Shipping Today

When intrepid reporter Takashi Kagetani receives a book of old press clippings and an assignment to update a story on an entire family that was slaughtered, he visits the old house with a compadre to do an article for his newspaper. The murders were never solved and the murderer(s) never caught so Takashi's curiosity impels him to play the part of hero. Before Tak and friend can do any real investigation at the house however, a strange shimmering cloud envelopes his friend and Takashi watches as she disappears. Soon, he is also behind shimmering wriggly lines and sent back in time to the year 1929 where he gets a chance to possibly prevent the murders before they even happen. His friend has become a specter of sorts and she implores Takashi to find a way to bring her (and him) back to their own day. Along with the time shift, Takashi soon realizes that he now has the power to tap into the minds of the people he encounters and view the history and events that have transpired around them. The newfound gift should allow him to handle his predicament somewhat better...
Capcom hired Japanese J-Pop drummer for Tokio and actor Masahiro Matsuoka to play the part of the reporter in Glass no Bara. We haven't seen much of his work but we remember him from the Psychometrer eiji (Simply Psychic) television series about a reluctant hero named Asuma Eiji. Asuma helps a detective solve crimes through his ability to view a person's past by mere touch. Takashi's new game role then, is fitting...

Siren

Published by SCE US$60

  PS2 Siren Shipping today

A curious high school student with a penchant for the supernatural hears about a village named Hanyuda where mystical happenings occur. Since he's interested in the occult, its only natural for him to head over there and experience Hanyuda for himself. When he arrives at the village, he hears strange sounds and watches as dark figures perform. Before he can head for the hills, a siren rings in his head which jackhammers pain throughout his frame and the adventure begins...
A Siren has invaded the village of Hanyuda and poisoned the water. Denizens who haplessly quaff the water change into shibito or undead. The Shibito are a step above the shuffling zombies of games past; they retain their human memories and skills which make them particularly lethal especially when they wield weapons and attack with skill. Adding to their repertoire, the shibito won't die and rise again after being put down. When running around the game with a mere flashlight providing illumination and no world map, trepidation and fear may set in and behoove one to tread slowly.
The player will eventually be able to control 10 characters in Hanyuda and switch between them in a concerted effort to stop the power of the Siren and restore the village. The poisoned water is a curse but it also gifts the ability to look through the eyes of shibito in the vicinity with a power called Sightjack. Viewing the action from a different vantage point helps to assess situations and avoid possible death.
