An ad featuring an old codger in the midst of an
excavation starts off today's MOTD which was originally released on July 30, 1998. The ad covers a number of new releases including Brave Fencer Musashiden, Hanabi Fantast and B.L.U.E. The Playstation console also participates in the ad and we
see that is up to SCPH-7000 and was priced at Y18000.
The first feature in the magazine talks up Slayers
Royale (shipping 9/23 at Y6800) with 6 pages of screenshots and details
on the game. Next up, a preview of FFVIII which endures
for 3 pages before giving way to a mini Square retrospective. Single screenshots for Final Fantasy
II, Final Fantasy V, Tobal 2 and Choco Dungeon are used
in the article to chronicle Square's gameography. A full feature on Ehrgeiz examines fighting scenes and the Tekken-esque characters in the game. A 2-page capper
checks out Square's experimental Another Mind
interactive adventure, which strayed far from the RPG formula.
