NEWS Portable Gaming Choices Expand - E3

Handheld gaming technology appears to take a major leap later this year when the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP join the market. Photos of both units were revealed yesterday before the E3 festivities kick off today. Nintendo stays with the clamshell design and throws in two screens which are touch sensitive (use a stylus like a PDA) while Sony hearkens back to the design sensibilities of the Atari Lynx...Gamegear...Nomad... All of which have fallen beneath the boot of the Nintendo Gameboy juggernaut.

NCS has compiled a side by side comparison of the two units for perusal but as always, specs don't really say much about a machine if software designers don't take advantage of the core hardware and develop/design good, playable games... As always, we'll start preorders once pricing and shipping details are finalized by the two companies.
