Nakamura fronts for Namco's new football simulation
which features fourteen actual stadiums (Sapporo Dome,
Saitama Stadium, Yokohama Hoppodrome, etc), professional
teams, and an announcer who belts out the play by play
with great enthusiasm. Games are presented as if being
televised with title bars, commentary, player entrances,
and special effects splash across the screen before a
game begins. Player faces are rendered with fairly good
likenesses and the animation quality, while not on par
with Konami's WE, is well done. Once the action is on,
the camera views everything on the field from a fairly
far-off distance for a god's view of the game. When a
goal is scored, the replay takes in the action from
field level. |
