Jaleco created an enjoyable Tetris variant in 1997 with an archaeological wrinkle where the goal in the standard game is to create Tetris block combinations to allow an explorer passage to the bottom of the screen where a GOAL sign is posted. Its possible to drop blocks where the explorer character is standing but he/she will climb higher and move closer to the ceiling. That's all fine and good but there's a massive buzz saw located on the top of the screen which shreds the explorer if he/she gets too close to it. Treasures may be found when completing stages in record time and special bombs are available to blast out botched sections of the puzzle construct. One of our favorite Tetris variants next to the Bombliss games on the SFC.
