Scrap Heap Scramble - Seven Saturn Super Magazines

A total of seven new, near-mint Saturn Super Magazines from 1995-1997. Each magazine includes a CD-Rom filled with game previews and playable demos from the early years of the Saturn.

Vol. 01 Synopsis
The first year anniversary issue of Saturn Super checks out Sega's hottest property at the time: Virtua Fighter 2 on the included CD-Rom. Other game previews of note: Soul Hackers, Quo Vadis, Theme Park, Strahl, Chaos Control, Sega Rally, Super Real Mahjong (nudity warning), and Pro Mahjonh Kiwame S. Victor advertises the Wangan Deadheat game in a 2-page spread which features Japanese models as your driving companions.

Vol. 02 Synopsis
Pai strikes a vogue pose on the cover of the second issue of SS. Inside, the CD-Rom includes previews of Golden Axe, Rayman, Breakthru!, VF2, Sega Rally, Virtua Cop, World Advanced Daisenryaku, King of the Spirits, and Pitagraph. Adverts that may pique interest include: Golden Axe: the Duel, Thunderstorm & Road Blasters, and Simcity 2000.

Vol. 03 Synopsis
The original Virtua Cop was a blast on the Saturn and the playable preview on the CD gives readers a taste of gun shooting action. NCS remembers those early years of 32-bit gaming with fondness. Sure, the Playstation would eventually dominate but the Saturn gave a great ride while it lasted. Other CD previews: Virtua Fighters 2, Sega Rally, Hang On GP '95, Quo Vadis, Toshinden S, and Baku Baku Animal. Sega advertises the Virtua Fighter Portrait series in this issue with a 1-page solicitation. Akira and Pai are both featured in the ad with the other fighters portrayed on the bottom of the page.

Vol. 07 Synopsis
"Nights" soars into this issue to give readers a taste of Sega's 3-D action game. Ample screen shots and coverage in the pages of the magazine accompany the playable demo on the disc. Other notable previews on the pages and disc: Lunar the Silver Star Story, Street Fighter Zero 2, Sakura Taisen, Sonic Fighters (never released on the Saturn), Enemy Zero, and Decathlete. Playable demos: Kururin Pa!, Strikers 1945, Sonic Wings Special, Incredible Toons, and Greatest Nine '96.

Vol. 09 Synopsis
Virtual On triumphs and Saturn Super is there to recap the mecha jump-jet, napalm blasting action. All of the bots are examined from the willowy Fei-Yen to the ungainly looking Dorkas. Other previews on the CD: Enemy Zero, Tengai Makyo IV, Riglord Saga 2, Shining the Holy Ark, Prikura Daisakusen, Lulu, Tryrush Deppy, Rockman 8 and Lunar the Silver Star Story. Two notable advertisements stand out in this issue: a 2-page Sakura Taisen (the original from 1996) and a 4-page Enemy Zero.

Vol. 10 Synopsis
The original Virtua On gets the CD preview treatment in this issue of Saturn Super. In addition to VO, we scope out Sengoku Ace, Super Street Racer, Vatlva, Funny Island, and DXhird. Advertisements of interest inside the pages include a 2-page Vatlva, a 1-page Air's Adventure, and a 1-page Shining the Holy Ark. The bulk of this slim 32 pager goes to Virtual On, which should please VO fanatics.
