Santa and Famitsu's mascot appear ready to shred the
slopes on the cover of today's MOTD.
Notable features and items in the magazine
p8-14 Famitsu
Express news section - there's a scrap heap scramble
kind of photo on page 8 where many consoles are thrown
together in a junk pile. magazine interviews Kenji Eno and Yasushi
Akimoto.
p21-26 Shining Force
III mission objectives, maps, and tactical primers.
p31-41 The reviewers
are kept busy with a whopping 45 games ranked - Rockman
Dash gets 9/8/8/6, Densha de Go scores 10/7/8/6, and
Grandia wins gold with 9/7/8/8. The only other game to
medal in the issue is Yoshi 64.
p102-105 Grandia look-see with copious
screenshots and game sequences shown. The spread ends
with a 2-page fold-out Grandia advert.
p134-148 Even more
reviews from the Famitsu crew but this time, the best
games of 1997 are revisited - Tobal 2 leads with
9/8/9/10 and many others are recapped such as DOA, X-Men
vs SF, Moon, Biohazard, Nights, etc. Towards the end of
the feature, some notable games from past history are
shown such as Mother 2 from 1994 at 9/9/8/8 and Street
Fighter II from 1993 (9/9/9/9). All in all, one of the
better issues of Famitsu for game historians... |
