NCS
imports and distributes a range of Japanese media and
consumer goods outside of video game software. Some
products are only suitable for the local market here in
New York City with it's large Asian population and
others are targeted specifically to vendors who peddle
particular products. Here's a Photo CD featuring the
Guardian of the Universe, Gamera. Photo
CDs are fairly common beasts in Japan and Asia and they
work with PCs, Macs, Saturns outfitted with a Video-CD
card, CD-I machines, and the 3DO. Essentially a
collection of images and photos, Photo CDs never made it
into the popular culture of the USA but they flourish in
Asia and Japan. This particular Photo-CD includes 172
photos of the big Gamera monster and all of the
characters and beasts that make up the mythos. Sketches
of Gamera and various monsters are interesting to scope
as well. A selection of images from the Photo CD are
posted below for your viewing pleasure. Note that NCS
has taken the original *.PCD files and converted them
into JPEGs for compression purposes. Original image
quality on the PCD is superior to what you see here.
