Attempt to archive a movie DVD from the PS2 directly to a VCR and you'll end up with a botched copy of the film. No archive for you.

There's a work-around however. Connect the PS2 to the DVD Decoder and archival copies are possible thanks to the Macrovision inhibitor built into the decoder.
