Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball XI

GC/PS2 Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball XI - New Import

With the baseball season in full swing and the boys of summer at each other's throats, it's only fitting that Konami ship the latest Powerful Pro Baseball. At the midseason point, the tension is high and the fall classic is shaping up for the lead contenders. Join the excitement by setting up virtual pennant races with Konami's new edition of their leading baseball franchise.

A total of 14 teams are playable in PPBXI and 200 original players may be saved in the "make a player" database for creating custom teams. As in previous games in the series, players may be drafted, traded and sent overseas for training, education, etc to prepare them for their career.

Professional team uniforms are also recreated in perfect fashion, from the pinstripes to the color schemes of the various Japanese clubs. Team data from 2004 has been updated with stats for all 520 professional players from Japan's baseball league.

PSO Blue Burst

PC Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst - New Import

The PSO Episode 1&2 phenomenon creeps along a little longer with an updated version on the Japanese PC. Based on the Xbox edition, Blue Burst stands alone in its own separate online world which is not shared with the GC, Xbox or Dreamcast variants. Many of the old quests are available in Blue Burst but new exclusive missions have been added. Players who have been enjoying the beta trial version will have to start anew in Blue Burst so that everyone gets in on an even keel with everyone else. Game Master moderators are present in the game who serve to mediate disputes between players, maintain peace, and warn/ban troublemakers who might ruin the experience for other players. Cheating appears to be remedied by server side saves but we're assuming that hacks are already making the rounds.
Unlike previous PSO releases, Blue Burst is entirely in Japanese with no multi-language support. We've read about some partial English menu patches for the trial edition so there might be hope...
Graphics look a bit sharper than previous editions and character classes are the same as the ones found in the other PSO games. Controls are via keyboard and mouse with
customizable keys. Suggested system requirements appear to be lofty with WinXP [Japan], Pentium 4 at 1.5Ghz, 256MB ram, 1.3GB disk and an NVIDIA GEForce ATI Radeon 8500 or later.

Uo Nanatsu no Mizu Densetsu

PS2 Uo Nanatsu no Mizu Densetsu no Nushi - New Import

Ranked gold in the latest issue of Famitsu, UO offers a surprisingly fresh and engaging gaming experience. We weren't expecting much based on the previews from a few months back but SCE have themselves another sleeper.
At the outset, the protagonist UO (fish) is sent on a mission by an old turtle creature. Upon entering the game proper, movement is controlled by maneuvering the left thumbstick and UO swims through the depths with ease. Fins flip realistically and UO's tail wags while swimming. A targeting cursor may be spotted on objects or fellow fish to perform actions. For example, underwater gates may be pushed by swimming into them and prey may be gobbled up by wagging the right thumbstick. UO has to eat continually to keep up its strength while keeping watch for predators .
