Pearl White PS2

PS2 Pearl White Playstation 2 Console - New Import

Earlier in the year, Sony released the Ceramic White Playstation console in Japan and included a copy of Gran Turismo 4 Prologue with it. There was a general clamor for the bundle and we shifted a good amount to hungry stateside and European consumers. We sold our last Ceramic a few weeks ago and the prospects of restock appear dim.
Following on the heels of the Ceramic White console, Sony shipped the Pearl White PS2 model last week which is based on the newer SCPH-50000 series. What's the difference between Ceramic White and Peal White one might venture to ask? At first glance, both consoles appear to be identical. White is white. Step closer and one begins to notice the subtle difference between Ceramic and Pearl White. Ceramic has a dull finish and the case seemingly absorbs light and heat. Pearl White is lacquered. It's shiny and appears to reflect all manner of light and even heat that's directed at it. There.

TOY Armored Core Nexus One Coine Figure Series v2.0 - New

Four Raven mechs and three color variants for each are featured in the second set of Kotobukiya's Armored Core Nexus One Coin series. Upon opening a sample box, the mech inside is sandwiched between two thin pieces of plastic molding. There's also a little bag which holds some bolt-on weaponry.  Each mech measures approximately 7cm tall (3.14") and the level of detail is excellent. We've posted up a few photos on the camera link. Pricing per randomly packaged Raven is US$6.00 or US$72 for a factory sealed case of 12. A secret figure is also randomly inserted in each case.

TOY Card Captor Sakura Gashapon - New Import

Sakura Kinomoto and Tomoya Daidouji are the focus of Bandai's new set of six Card Captor capsule toys. No less than four figures feature Sakura by herself while one includes both Tomoya and Sakura in bust form. Tomoya shares the spotlight with a miniscule Kerberos and a laptop of sorts in the last gashapon. The figures measures approximately 3" each and require a bit of assembly before they're whole and ready to stand. Little braces are included with some of the toys to prevent them from falling over while being displayed. NCS supplies this item as a complete set.

TOY Full Metal Alchemist Trading Arts Figures - New Import

Alphonse and Edward Elric are brothers. Young and foolhardy, they machinate a plan to bring their mother back from the dead but suffer the consequences when their project goes awry. With Alphonse encased in a suit of armor and Edward working with replacement limbs, the two siblings resolve to locate the Philosopher's Stone to make themselves whole once again...
Six figures + 1 secret figure measuring 10cm are randomly packaged in each carton of 10. Please note that full color and metallic versions of each figure are possible. The six characters in attendance are heroes Edward Elric, Alphonse Elric, Riza Hawkeye, Winry Rockbell, Roy Mustang, and Alex Louis Armstrong.

TOY Namco Characters Diorama - New Import

The nostalgia keeps on rolling with the Namco Characters Diorama set which features eight video game heroes from Namco's esteemed library. Memorable classics featured in the set include Pac-Man, Xevious, Mappy, Dig Dug, Famista, Legend of the Valkyrie, and Tower of Druaga. The last diorama is a secret for fans to ferret out. Each diorama measures 6cm each and only one color variation is available for the various dioramas.
Pricing is set at US$6 per random figure or US$60 for a complete factory sealed case of 10.

Star Wars Diorama 3

TOY Star Wars Diorama Series 3  - New Import

The first set of Star Wars Diorama featured C-3PO and R2D2, Darth Vader flanked by Storm Troopers, an AT-AT, the Millenium Falcon and an X-Wing Fighter. Unfortunately these are no longer available for restock.
The second set contained Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewie, Boba Fett and a frozen Han Solo, Yoda in a sedate pose and Obi-Wan vs a Sith. Unfortunately these are also no longer available for restock.
The third set of the Star Wars Diorama Candy Toys feature Anakin Skywalker on a speeder, Yoda with lightsaber at the ready, a zooming Jedi Starfighter, Slave I hiding on an asteroid, and AT-TE battle mecha. These happen to be available for sale today.

While we're impressed with the quality of the Star Wars Dioramas, Tomy continues to use breakaway molds for little parts and pieces which are rather fragile. For example, the Slave I includes a number of tiny cannons which must be twisted and broken off of a plastic receptacle. It's very easy to twist the side cannons to the point where they snap in half...which is what happened to ours. We would recommend using a fine-tipped Exacto knife to liberate the smaller pieces from their molds. Don't ruin your toys like we ruined ours.

PS2 UO Nanatsu no Mizu To Densetsu no Nushi - New Import

The Asian version of UO Nanatsu is a full-blown Chinese language edition which is entirely in Chinese. We're aware that sales of Asian PS2 software in overseas markets such as Hong Kong, China, etc are poor which makes this simultaneous Chinese language release of a niche (but great) Japanese game puzzling. Sony must have their reasons.
Two bonuses are bundled with the Chinese version of UO - a nifty cellphone strap which is mounted in a blister pack and a pinbadge which is sealed inside a square foil wrapper. The Japanese version of UO did not include such gifts.

ETC Gradius V Origins DVD Bonus - Show & Tell

As chronicled on Wednesday's update, we received one Gradius V Origins DVD. In Japan, Konami gave away the Origins DVD to customers who preordered Gradius V at retail outlets. Unfortunately, our distributors were not privy to 1:1 ratio...and this time around, we got 1:350 ratio. In any case, we've watched the DVD and we're throwing up some screen caps today along with commentary on the disk. The first two chapters consist of interviews with two designers of the game and the third chapter introduces viewers to a masterful player who then proceeds to own/dominate/rule level 5.
