Sega Hardware Straps

ETC Sega Hardware Straps - Shipping December 2004

Sega looks back in time and finds inspiration for a new set of cellphone straps based on the company's past console hardware. Most of the machines should be easily recognizable at first glance thanks to their distinctive designs. Represented in the set are the SG-1000 Mark III aka Sega Master System, MegaDrive aka Genesis, Saturn, and the Dreamcast. Linked to each console is a replica of the game machine's control pad and the logo of the console is printed on the strap for added clarity.
Each strap measures 7cm long and delivery is expected in December 2004.

Nemesis Handheld

SOTW Nemesis Handheld - New, Original Stock from 1989

Fifteen years after Konami released the Nemesis LCD game in Japan, NCS uncovers some old stock from warehouse storage and marvels at the excellent condition of the factory sealed cardboard boxes and the gaming history inside. Back in the day, Nintendo ruled the LCD gaming landscape with Game and Watch handhelds but other publishers offered some competition. Konami was one such rival and they released the Nemesis handheld on December 15, 1989 at ¥2980.  That's $26.97 on this morning's spot.

Simple to play but somewhat difficult to master, players control an LCD Gradius ship which moves up and down only. A big button on the right side of the handheld shoots off a laser to destroy oncoming ships. A row of function buttons above the controls turn the unit on and off, mute sound, and a little inset button may be pushed to reset the entire game. A plastic screen protector must be removed before starting a game but it may be set aside to use as a dust cover during storage. Pricing at US$15 which includes shipping.
