GBA Inyou Taisenki Zeroshiki - New Import
An addictive RPG which revolves around a school lad who just happens to control a powerful demon beast that is hidden in a handheld electronic gadget. At the outset of the game, the protagonist is dreaming of an event in history event where a shrine god is using the handheld gadget to call a powerful creature into battle. The lad soon wakes up in his home, picks up the gadget, and ventures into the world. Players travel inside a town and a world map in real time motion. The initial world is broken up into an expansive 5 x 5 block area where the edges of each block is demarcated by fuzzy static.

During battles, the demon partner may be sent into attack mode, barrier mode, or flee from battle if its life force is running low. As enemy creatures are defeated, they may be invited to join your party - up to 72 beasts may be added to a virtual stable. Only three creatures may be added to an active team where they fight battles but the active roster may be swapped out for others before a fight begins. Hit points may be replenished at pentagrams dotted around the landscape of your home town and in other locations.

Taisenki uses an interesting attack system where moves are drawn with strokes. For example, to send demon beast into attack mode, one stroke to the left pulls off a three hit attack where the enemy is hit on the ground, bounced into the air for another hit and finally falls to the ground for a third blow. One stroke downwards executes a zooming ground attack where the demon hits the enemy at full force while one stroke upwards and then left restores vitality. A damage multiplier counts down immediately once an attack is chosen. The faster an attack is executed, the more damage the attack impacts. At the higher beast levels, the multiplier starts at 150% and quickly bolts downwards once an attack is chosen. If the attack is pulled off at 140%, the damage is a few points higher than an attack executed at 120%. Different creatures pounce with various attacks. As beasts level up higher, more intricate strokes may be used to ignite powerful magic attacks or triple damage blows that send enemies bouncing around the screen.
