New, sealed Xbox Action Replay. Unlike other AR devices for
the Gamecube, PS2, etc, the Xbox version is more of a "Powersave" loader
rather than a true cheat code device. These so-called Powersaves are
regular or hacked save-data files which players may download from Datel
or the net. Game saves from other players may also be shared and
distributed. Cheats may consist of unlimited health, money or completed
levels in a particular game.
The hardware packaged with the Action Replay include a USB cradle which
connects to your PC and a specially designed 8M memory card for loading
"Powersaves" onto. Gamers will have to supply a USB cable to connect
cradle to computer as it is not included. The Xbox AR includes preloaded
Powersaves but in order to take advantage of new and freshly hacked data
from Datel, a USB connection to your PC is required.
There is no Freeloader-like functionality on the Xbox Action Replay and
you will not be able to play import games with the Action Replay. You
will also be unable to create your own cheat codes.
