GBA Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3 - New Import
 NCS Game Synopsis
©NCSX▪  Many years ago, an earthquake unearthed a strangely decorated time machine and a certain Professor Brown discovered it. Toiling for years, he eventually revived the machine and got it working again. As the introduction in the game begins, the background story is laid down by Professor Brown in casual conversational manner. Soon after, two characters named Frio and Kyaro pop into view, both decked with gray-colored hair who interact a bit with the good Professor. The two are fans of the legendary stories of old and are enamored with epic quests and adventures. If there was only a way to meet their heroes... Later that evening, in front of a roaring fireplace, Frio is reading of great adventures and falls into a slumber when an upset Professor Brown bursts into view and summons him and Kyaro to his research laboratory.

Game control is granted at this point and players may move a representation of Frio and Kyaro around a town map. The first location to visit is the Professor's lab in the upper portion of the screen. Once there, Professor Brown informs the two protagonists that something awry has happened. The time machine has been stolen and the past has been altered in a most unfortunate manner. Those heroes of old somehow never completed their quests due to tampering by a time meddler. All is not lost however as a time traveler from the future named Professor White (he's actually just an older version of Professor Brown) arrives in the nick of time. The "new" Professor rides in on another time machine and introduces himself to the duo and then introduces them to the great heroes from Namco properties in chronological order such as Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia, and Tales of Symphonia. He then charges Frio, Kyaro, and newfound friends with the job of venturing into the past to set things right again. Fix the time shenanigans so that adventures and great journeys may be completed by the heroes of lore...

The game proper starts and four teams are presented on a green pasture. Each team contains three heroes. A pointer is used to click on each team to send them on their way. Upon selecting a team (Hit A, click on the first option -Move- that pops up, and press A again to set the path of movement. Once all four teams have been given destinations, press B and then click on the first option to send the heroes rambling across the wilderness. Eventually, enemies are met and standard Tales side-view fighting action ensues where the leader is controlled by the player in hack 'n slash action.  Two other team members rush to and fro and perform some semblance of offensive attacks and magic. The early enemies are fairly simple to dispatch but gradually increase in challenge.

Various systems that are revisited in Narikiri Dungeon 3 include the cooking system, the aforementioned 2-D linear battle system, and the Narikiri costume change system which determine the abilities of the two main heroes in the game. Costumes may be purchased in shops, discovered in treasure chests, or Tales characters may also bequeath them to Frio and Kyaro. A good amount of light-hearted banter between characters helps to add personality and moxie to the storyline.

All orders will include a bonus 2005 Nakiri Dungeon 3 desktop calendar.
