PS2 Evangelion GOS2

PS2 Evangelion Girlfriend of Steel 2 - New Japanese Import
The slacker known as Shinji Hikari is sleeping late again when Asuka bellows for him to wake up or they'll be late for school. Rousing from his slumber like the undead, Shinji eventually musters up the energy to join a haughty Asuka in walking to class. On the way there, Hikari crashes into a new girl in town and the two clatter onto the sidewalk. Breakfast pastry on the floor. The girl suffers an unintended revelation and accuses Shinji of catching more than an eyeful. After some protestation by the meek Hikari, Asuka steps in and breaks up the commotion and they proceed to school. Once in class, students such as Kaoru, Touji and Kensuke banter and josh around. Teacher Misato Katsuragi soon arrives and announces that a new student will join them. Rei Ayanami walks into class and Hikari recognizes her as the object of his clumsiness earlier in the morning. After another confrontation between Rei and Hikari, Asuka comes to the rescue again and settles everything down. Misato tells Hikari to go to the school nurse to have a scrape on his elbow checked out. Once there, Dr. Ritsuko Akagi asks a number of questions and instructs Hikari to report to NERV and join all of the other students for a series of tests...
Essentially an alternate retelling of the Evangelion story, <cont'd>

PS2 Fuun Bakumatsuden

 PS2 Fu·un Bakumatsu·den - New Japanese Import
Taking place from 1860 through 1869 and reversing the roles of the prequel (Fuun Shinsengumi), players join the ranks of the roshi and battle the Shinsengumi who are policemen hired by the Shogunate to keep the peace. Walk around town, interact with fellow conspirators and engage the team-tactics of the Shinsengumi who beat down on insurgents in squads of four or more. Instead of being limited to Kyoto like the original, the new action-slasher takes place across Japan as organized gangs seek to cause ruckuses throughout the land.
Historical recreations in the game include the Ikeda-ya slaughter where disgruntled Ishin Shishi (imperial swordsman) gathered in 1864 to plot the overthrow of the Tokugawa Shogunate. After the meeting, many of the Ishin Shishi stayed in the Ikeda-ya inn and drank until they fell asleep. A band of roving Shinsengumi learned of the Ishin Shishi's plans and rushed into the inn and killed everyone. Afterwards, the Shinsengemi were credited with saving Kyoto and the Shogunate from a series of unfortunate events. The mission in this scenario is to protect Ishin Shishi leader Kogorou Katsura from the Shinsengumi and escape through a backdoor in the inn to keep the rebellion alive.

PS2 Magic Teacher Negima

PS2 Magic Teacher Negima - New Japanese Import
After the success of Love Hina, Ken Akamatsu pours his creative animus into Magic Teacher Negima and hearkens back to his Ai Ga Tomaranai roots. Enter Negi Springfield, all of 10 years old and a recent graduate of a school for wizards. Sent to Japan as a teacher for a group of 30 teenage girls, Negi attempts to hide his magic powers but the sharp-eyed student Asuna ferrets him out and exposes his true nature.
The game consists of 3-D action/exploration where Negi roams around the campus and helps girls out in tasks and interaction events with gals. There's also a few mini-games peppered along the way. Ther overriding goal is to help class 2A pass the final exam which is in a mere 2 weeks with the (primarily) magic of education... In the exploration and action scenes, Negi and students are presented in polygon form where they move around and perform actions in realtime motion. In the interaction scenes, the visuals turn to crisp and clean artwork presentations with voice work from the actresses who are working in the television series (just debuted earlier this month on TV Tokyo) and drama CDs. Throughout the game, Negi carries an gnarled wooden staff which is taller than he is but it is through the staff that he channels his magic spells and other wizardly tricks.

PS2 Monster Hunter G

PS2 Monster Hunter G - New Japanese Import
Dinosaur hunting and beast killing with groups of gamers returns to the PS2 with the arrival of Monster Hunter G. Upon starting the game, players choose from a male or female character and outfit the new champion in various types of armor, helmets, manacles and other accoutrements to individualize every hero. The weapons are as big as ever and a new assortment of spears and swords may be hefted for killing forays. The option to carry a weapon in each hand is also possible now which makes attacking monsters less of a chore than the original Monster Hunter. Massive winged creatures make up a good portion of the monsters in the game but ground based dinosaurs also inhabit the environment. Landscapes range from dead and misty forests, blazing deserts, and lush tropical havens with their own bunch of particular monsters to track and kill.
When attacking jumpy and excitable beasts, one may be overcome if they decide to gang up but sweeping berserker attacks may be pulled off to fend them off. Larger monsters tend to move little and provide a massive and stationary meat target for the most part. The amount of blood spraying every which way with each stroke is copious and like the original, MHG may be played online or offline.
