Game Synopsis

For the children of Tatsumiya island, ignorance is
bliss. Unbeknownst to them, most of the world has
been destroyed but they live their lives unlabored
by the thoughts of potential destruction. One day,
children on a beach are listening to a radio when a
voice asks "Are you there?" Not knowing any better,
they answer in the affirmative...
Years pass without incident but harsh reality hits
when powerful beings known as Festum discover the
location of Tatsumiya and launch an attack. Although
Tatsumiya island is cloaked from other humans and
the Festum, the children's chorus to the radio
alerted the invaders of their presence.
In the events of the television series, main
characters Kazuki and Soushi take up the defense of
the island by piloting a mighty mech warrior called
a Fafner. Kazuki enters the Fafner and Soushi into
the Siegfried system which is a remote co-pilot
mechanism of sorts. In the PSP game, players take
control of a Fafner and are sent on action-packed
missions against various Festum in order to protect
the island. Before each mission, a short briefing is
played and then various equipment may be chosen to
take into battle. Throughout a mission,
communication flashes appear on the top of the
screen which keeps one apprised of changing
conditions or new objectives.
