   A farm passes into the hands of a young lad who plows into the routine of the simple life. Grow cash crops, raise animals, and interact with townfolk for the latest news. The Nintendo DS version of Farm Story (aka Harvest Moon) shows the action and interaction sequences on the upper screen while the  lower screen serves as an interface with command buttons to point and tap at. The bottom screen is also the relay area for messages and  conversations. To take advantage of the stylus, Marvelous has programmed "direct" interaction with animals where players may point at cows, sheep, and horses and perform farm chores on them. Those sheep ain't shearing themselves. Gamers who have either GBA version of "Friends of Mineral Town" may plug it in simultaneously with Korobokkle to unlock bonuses.

   Echoes of old and new reverberate in Rumble Fish, a 2-D fighting game developed by Dimps. References to old school games include a standard chain combo system, a special attack meter, and the usual assortment of attacks. Cheap and cheese are two words that may come to mind when battling against some of the fighters in the game who are powerful without paying any dues. New to the game is an innovative animation technique which allows for some stunning effects.

   From Japan to the USA and back again, Taiko Drum Master accomplishes a feat only a few Square titles have accomplished - the transpacific round trip. As if to ensure that no Taiko title be unreleased in Japan, the USA version of Taiko Drum Master returns to Japan in a near carbon-copy replica. There's a few song swaps however and the game is entirely in English.
 
 

PSP Sarugechu P! JPN

   Spike and Specter renew their face-off in Sony's remake of the original Piposaru (Ape Escape). As the story goes, a caged monkey named Spectre puts on a Peak Point Helmet left by an absent-minded professor and increases his intelligence exponentially. From simple simian to cunning mastermind, Spectre proclaims that the time of man has passed and the day of the ape is anon. Or something like that. In order to change history and guarantee the ascension of monkeys, Spectre invades the professor's laboratory and activates a time machine which sends Spike, Buzz, and 200 ornery apes back to the time of the dinosaurs. Spike and Buzz's objective is to capture every ape and send them back to the present day before Spectre's machinations change the future.
   At the outset of the game, Spike uses a net to bag the chimps and a stun club to temporarily stun apes. New gadgets may be won later in the game...
