GC Homeland (Wide Distribution Release) - New Import

A couple of months after the Nintendo online exclusive release of Homeland, the company issues the game to normal distribution. Quirky and niche, Homeland won't attract a huge following but it will find its audience as quirky games always do.

Players may enjoy a regular offline version for 1-player questing and an online edition which links up to 35 players together. One Gamecube serves as the hub or node and everyone else connects to the system. Since an online processing gateway is absent, the game may be played online for free.

Homeland is at its core, an exploration and experimentation game. Travel the world and meet/greet various creatures including flat clay-like beings that appear to be Gumby's little siblings. When a roaming foe triggers an encounter, a seamless transition leads to an immediate attack against the villain. A hand-linking system in the game allows chains of creatures to hold hands and impart their special abilities or powers to each other. For example, if the protagonist joins hands with a fire creature, both will walk through lava lakes unscathed. If the protag should try that by himself, mass charring would be inflicted.
