Our first impressions of the game are very favorable. We tend to avoid fights whenever possible since many adventure games have tedious battle systems. Tales of Symphonia offers a fine action-based real-time battle system that has been honed and refined from the system found in previous Tales game which one can look forward to. Namco calls it the "Multi-Line Linear Motion Battle System" which allows different characters in your team to stand on the same line of attack as an opponent and fight within that groove or boundary. Some adventure games tend to have a long, drawn out introduction which lays down the groundwork but Symphonia draws players into the action immediately and releases bits of the story as the game goes along.
