TOYS Sega I-Pets

 NEWS Sega I-Dog 2, I-Fish - Shipping October 2005
Sega Toys of Japan has announced two color variants of the I-Dog which originally debuted in April of this year. The new pooches have the same functionality as the original but sport new pastel-colored faces and tails. Preorders are welcome starting today at Y3980 or US$45 per pet to ship in October. Please note that Hasbro will release the I-Dog stateside in the regulation off-white color at a suggested retail price of US$25 this autumn.

Preorders have also been opened for the I-Fish which more resembles a filet of fine of bone china than a stylish simulacrum of a fish. I-Fish is apparently designed to be plopped into an aquarium...or a bathtub... or a wading pool filled with water where it will scoot along and react to its environment. Scant details were revealed in the preorder sheet from last night but we'll post more details once we have them. Pricing is set at Y4980 or US$55 and preorders will ship in mid-late October 2005.

GBA Kidou Gekidan Haro... JPN

GBA Kidou Gekidan Haro Ichiza: Haro no Puyo Puyo - New
Instead of shimmering jellies falling from the sky, colorful Haro Balls from the Gundam universe drop and are arranged in contiguous color matches of at least four balls. When playing against an opponent, making color combos will drop a commensurate raft of black obstruction spheres on the opponent's side. The middle of the screen shows the characters in animated motion as they begin winning or losing. For example, a loser will cringe and act woeful while a winner will beam and fluff like a turkey.

PS2 King of Fighters Neowave JPN

PS2 King of Fighters Neowave - New Import
From Atomiswave coin-op hardware to humble home console, Playmore's latest game in the ever evolving (and sometimes devolving) King of Fighters franchise reaches the PS2 in fine shape. All 43 fighters from the arcade version are present along with traditional KOF gameplay where teams of three challengers bout it out against other teams. What isn't traditional KOF however is the control scheme which now uses 5 buttons instead of 4 - the fifth button is used to turn on "Heat Mode" which is essentially a berserker toggle which allows a fighter to impact more damage than normal on an opponent but also lowers defense and health.
