After years of gun 'n run skirmishes and all-out
warfare, the houses of Crest, Kisaragi, and Mirage
have all merged under one corporate banner.
Alliance. With a
capital A serving as their new company logo. With
Alliance troops and a league of Raven mercenaries
securing their control of a ruined world, a new
corps of Raven mercenaries called Vertex bites back.
Led by Jack O, the rebels band
together to challenge the new powers that be...
Decked in a white and gun-metal colored Raven,
Jack O uses a knight's helmet with a long white mane
as his insignia. New skirmishes and attacks are afoot as his
merry band of Ravens attack the Alliance power
structure in missions designed to destabilize the
corporation's new arrangement. The game takes place over 24 hours
of missions which are pounded out in increments.
Emblems are available for bolting onto a mech and
split screen action is available for 2-players. When
shooting at foes, a targeting circle appears which
tracks the enemy as it scoots around or wings
through the air. A rectangular perimeter also
silhouettes the front view of the player to give a
close approximation of mobility and firing range
once a target is sighted. When a target is within
firing range, the perimeter will turn red but when a
target moves out of range, it will revert back to
yellow.
The energy bar is to the left and weapons and a
local area map are shown on the upper right side of
the screen. As in previous ACs, mech colors may be
modified and parts may be upgraded for better combat
performance. New features in the game include
damage to individual parts of a Raven.
Mechs may also practice and win dosh in the VR Arena
where the stakes are listed along with possible winnings. |
