PS2 Slime Controller JPN

PS2 Dragon Quest Slime Controller - Restock
Hori USA plans a production of the Dragon Quest Slime Controller on October 31 to precede the USA release of Dragon Quest VIII on November 5. For impatient gamers anxious for blue Slime now, we present restock of the Japanese Slime controller. Pricing is set at US$49 and orders are welcome to ship today.

Reprinted from NCS update
dated November 27, 2004
Hori's at it again with one of the hottest limited edition controllers ever created in gaming history. Better than the Soul Controller and the ASCII Fighting Pad Type 2 combined, NCS presents the DQ VIII Controller.

Shaped like a cuddly blue Slime, the Dual Shock 2 compatible controller looks like a standard Slime when sitting upright. There's no mistaking those blank eyes and that silly red smile. However, flip it upside down, connect the detachable cord, and it's game-on for Playstation 2 players hankering for some action.

TOYS Naru 1/8 Scale JPN

NEWS Import Toy Update - Preorder
Manufacturer Alta has started preorders for a new 1/8 scale (22cm) Naru Narusegawa figure which ships in November 2005. Naru's relaxed posture appears to indicate that she's walking on a beach and hailing a floundering Keitarou somewhere in the surf. Her beach wear consists of a lime-green bikini and a pair of Daisy Dukes that are unbuckled to show the world that the lime-green bikini bottom matches the top. Color coordination is important to a girl. Pricing is set at Y4800 or US$55 from NCS.
Eikoh announced a new set of Domokun plushes which ship in October 2005. When big brown isn't shorting out televisions with water or terrorizing Usagi, he's out hitting the slopes. Four Domokun variants are featured in the set as follows from the upper left and snowballing clockwise:

● Hockey Player Domokun
● Snow Bum Domokun
● Snow Boarder Domokun
● Skiing Domokun

PSP Playgear Pocket Blue JPN

PSP Playgear Pocket Orange JPN

PSP Playgear Pocket White JPN

 NEWS General Updates
Playgear Rainbow
Logitech is finally releasing the Playgear Pocket in Japan to address the concerns of PSP players on the go. Along with basic Black, the Playgear will also be released in Blue, Orange, and White. Pricing is expected to be Y1980 or approximately US$25 from NCS. Since Black is available in the States already, we'll only import the other colors. Preorders are welcome today for delivery on September 29.
Import UMD Flood
Roughly 30 PSP UMD-Videos were opened for preorder last night. The batch of discs appear to be mostly animation transfers with Blood the Last Vampire, two volumes of Basilisk - Kouga Ninpou Chou, five volumes of She, the Ultimate Weapon represented. American films announced for Japanese distribution include 13 Going on 30, The Mask of Zorro, and The Forgotten. Due to the general lack of interest in PSP UMDs, we'll likely skip the entire lot and dodge the onrush of (dead) inventory.
PSP Accessories

Sony announced a bunch of accessories overnight but didn't provide press photos. There's something which translates to "PSP Hand Strap Metal Plate Made in Skin" but that's just our mangling of the Japanese language. There are also other Hand Straps with "Laser Plate" and Neck Straps with both "Metal Plate" and "Laser Plate" options. We'll post up photos once we have them but we'll hold off on accepting preorders for now.
Obon Holiday
Suppliers and distributors in Japan will close for the Obon holiday this week from August 11 through August 16. During Obon, the spirits of ancestors return to this world to visit relatives. The holiday shouldn't affect any of our shipping schedules and no delays are expected this week.
