Xenosaga Kos-Mos 1/8 scale PVC Figure
   Japanese manufacturer Alta has opened up preorders for a 1/8 scale PVC Kos-Mos figure which measures 23cm (9.05") tall. The blue-haired android twists her body in a special way to allow for interesting viewing angles all around when staring the figure. A transparent foundation disc is included for display purposes. Pricing is set at Y4800 or US$49 from NCS and preorders will ship on or around December 10, 2005.
More Nov-Dec Preorders
   A number of preorders were opened up over the weekend and we'll update everything by tomorrow. PS2 Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence will ship in a regular edition and a version + headset. On the shooter side of things, Skonec's Homura vertical shmup will be handled by Taito with a ship date of December 1. The game mechanics are fairly routine with players controlling a hero who battles wicked generals during the Warring States period of Japan's history. The "A" button blows out shots while the "B" button swings a sword. The sword may be used to reflect and deflect enemy shots right back at them for a added bit of strategy. A gallery mode may be unlocked which includes concept artwork and character/enemy illustrations. 
Nintendo DS Touch Pen Keychain
   Banpresto is soliciting preorders for keychains which are hooked to Nintendo DS miniatures and little 7cm (2.75") teardrop-shaped clasps that envelope a NDS stylus. The clasp may then be gripped like a stylus for a handful of screen poking action. Preorders will ship in January 2006. 
 
 

PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 JPN
 NEWS Tokyo Game Show Updates
   Konami has posted up the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer shown at the Tokyo Game Show. The quality is better than the camcorder version that we linked to last week and many details are now actually viewable. The trailer runs a little under 9 minutes long and is worth a look. At one point in the vid, Snake nearly coughs a lung out, injects himself with serum, and then recovers. After that, he clenches another cigarette between his teeth and lights it on a burning piece of wall before leaping into battle. Ruliweb has apparently posted a higher quality sample of the trailer but it may be a broken file.
   A camcorder video of Initial D for the PSP has been posted on Ruliweb. The first video link is dead but the second one works. The ride is smooth but the person's head jostling in front of the camera isn't.
