 PS2 Hori Real Arcade Pro v2.0 - New Import
   Limited for sale exclusively on horistore.com, NCS smuggles the Hori RAP2 into the States for some heavy duty joystick love. The top of the controller is covered by a metallic plate bolted down by six lugs. The body is ABS plastic and sturdy, just like the original Real Arcade Pro. The joystick is clicky but the clicks are more muted than other sticks which clack loud. The unit that we opened for our own use had little bits of adhesive on the top plate that we removed with pieces of tape. They appear to be residue from the manufacturing process. TOYS Binaltech BTA-01 JPN
 TOYS Transformers Binaltech Asterisk BTA-01 - New Import
   The debut of the Transformers Binaltech Asterisk series features the mighty Alert who changes from robot to Subaru Impreza WRX in a black/white police car skin with lights on top. To fit in with the law enforcement theme, a miniature police girl figure named AI is included in the package for added effect. AI carries a pointer in her left hand and a citation pad in her right paw. She wears a police uniform to connote authority.

   The scale of Alert is 1:24 and the toy has an acceptable paint job. There's some color bleed in the shoulder area and slightly below the chest but otherwise, it's a good piece of work. When Alert shifts into police car mode, the doors open up to allow AI to sit within. Alert's chest becomes the front hood of he car while the torso becomes the chassis. Finally, the legs tuck and fold to become the back trunk and rear lights. To indicate that Alert in police car mode is indeed a speedy vehicle, there's a spoiler on top of the trunk.  TOYS Transformers Binaltech Asterisk BTA-02 - New Import
   The second Transformers Binaltech Asterisk toy features Sunstreaker who transforms into a yellow colored Dodge Viper. The viper logo is painted on the front fender. Since the Dodge Viper is a vehicle that meshes well with the street racing subculture, race queen Junko is included in the package. For those unaware of the race queen phenomenon in Japan, she's a booster of sorts who looks attractive and helps to improve the image of motor sport racing. For example, instead of watching a bunch of grungy pit monkeys grinding wrenches, television viewers may instead focus on a well toned, mini-skirted model who smiles and waves... without a thought in her pretty head. 
   The build quality of Sunstreaker is good. The transformation process is straightforward and the pieces all magically fold, twist, and tuck with a minimum of effort. The paint job is clean but then again, there's only two colors at work here. We did notice one or two very minor chips in the paint but that may just be our sample unit that we opened up today.
