Synopsis
Capcom adapts the Viewtiful Joe shenanigans for use
on the stylus strapped Nintendo DS. As the story
goes, a bunch of malcontents steal Captain Blue's
new movie and it's up to Joe to get into costume and
retrieve it. In addition to the bad guys, Joe has a
pseudo nemesis in his little squabbling sister Jasmine, who
has her sights on becoming a movie queen. Stages in
the game are modeled after movie studio sets such as
the Super Coaster, Restaurant Volcano, and Action
Stadium.
Joe wields a new VFX power called "Split" or
"V-Camera" which allows the player to edit the scene or
splice the film to give Joe a helping hand. Split
opportunities are clearly indicated on a level by
purple letters which spell "Split." VFX Slow,
V-Dodge, and Scratch are also available powers.
Scratch allows the world to be shaken to drop items
on foes - when Scratch is in effect, Joe throws his
head back, points his toes downward, and raises both
arms
up to the sky. Whenever Joe is on screen, his cape
waves as if gale force winds were blowing. |
