 TOYS New Dot-Pin Toys - Preorder
   Tomy has announced two more Dot-Pin toys which are scheduled to ship in January 2006.

   The first set features the mallet swinging Eskimos from Ice Climber. In the promotional photo, Tomy's pin-artist has a pink parka wearing Eskimo swinging a mallet at an unsuspecting blue parka wearing Eskimo. The set includes 650 pegs of varying color including a new shade of orange.

   The second set pays homage to Balloon Fight and shows a balloon-lofted warrior about to receive a kiss from a blue-toothed beast from the deep. The set includes 650 pegs with three new peg colors - Gold, Pink, and Emerald. Preorders are welcome at US$15 per set.

 
 
Guess which one's the consumer?
 NEWS Xbox 360 Launches in North America
   A new console launch just isn't a launch without the following:
· Mass media coverage touting it as the next B·I·G thing. They would know.

· Hollywood launch party with celebs afoot and comp consoles on tap.

· News reports of anxious gamers standing on line for upwards of 72 hours. If you're the first one in front of the store, the roving reporter starts the interview with inane questions like, "What will you do when you get home?"

· Ebay listings for the console priced at inordinate sums as hysteria builds.

· Shortages everywhere - this part of the equation may be manufactured, just as Flextronics and Celestica contract manufactured the guts of the machine. Shelves full of readily available product means little mania.  

· Even if you preordered at a national game chain and dropped ducats, you're told the week before that you won't receive one. Thanks for playing.
