   ©NCSX▪ The web portal Excite adds the title of "game publisher" to its company credentials and their first project is an update to the Neo Geo game known as Power Instinct: Matrimelee aka Shin Gouketsuji Ichizoku. NCS blew out a little over a hundred Neo Geo Matrimelee carts in last year's Scrap Heap Scramble offer and perhaps it's fortunate that we sold them off since the PS2 update shipping on February 23 will feature additional characters, vibrant music, and improved graphics. For the uninitiated, Matrimelee is a 2D fighting game where odd-lot characters battle for the dainty purple-gloved hand of Princess Sissy (the blonde, left). Matrimony plus Melee equals fun.  
NDS Doraemon: Nobita no Kyouryu
    ©NCSX▪ The rotund blue cat from the future who answers to the call of "Doraemon" accompanies its master Nobita Nobi on a jaunt to prehistoric times. Based on the remake of the original Doraemon movie which bows next year, Nobita finds a dinosaur egg, hatches it, and endeavors to transport the beast back in time to its own era. Preorders will ship on March 2, 2006.

 NEWS Phantasy Star Universe - PC/PS2 Preorders

   ©NCSX▪ After waiting on Sega's distributor for the past couple of weeks, they have finally opened up preorders for the PC and PS2 versions of Phantasy Star Universe which are scheduled to ship on February 16, 2006. For offline action, a new storyline which spans three planets awaits online gamers who will take on the persona of Ethan Waber on a space-spanning quest to save his sister. Online gamers will be able to create and customize a unique character for multiplayer quests and general PSO immersion.
   Please note that the initial month's fee for online participation is listed at Y1260 and the monthly fee afterwards is Y1050. The preorder solicitation also mentions that PC and PS2 gamers will share the same servers.

   ©NCSX▪ Tourist Trophy refers to the motorcycle races which take place on the Isle of Man. In Polyphony Digital's latest racing game, players ride on two wheels instead of four where pedals and air are all that separates rider from asphalt floor. The mechanics and maneuverability of a motorbike are radically different from that of a car. For example, when turning left on a bike, the lean to the left starts by turning the front wheel to the right which is known as countersteering. Given the stark differences between driving a car and handling a motorbike, we'd ask Polyphony the following questions if we were motorcycle riding fanboy fiends:

1) Does the Tourist Trophy game engine accurately portray the stabilization effect of steering geometry as the motorcycle speeds ever faster?
2) There are nearly 100 motorbikes featured in the game from Yamaha, Honda, and other manufacturers. Has the center of gravity for each vehicle been factored into the how each bike handles in the game? If so, how does the addition of a rider affect the center of gravity of the motorcycle?
3) At high speeds, does the game engine accurately account for and calculate the centrifugal force on a bike when navigating a hairpin turn?

   Or something like that. Preorders will ship on February 2, 2005 at US$58.

   Takara has started preorders for a Best of Cool Girl EX: Honey Kisaragi Limited Edition figure which ships in mid-late March 2006. Honey Kisaragi hails from the Cutey Honey animation.
   Master Japan has opened up preorders for Sangokushi Candy Toys which features 12 characters which measure 8cm from Koei's game series. Feb 06.

Xbox 360 Japan
   We didn't confirm our Xbox 360 order from Japan last night but our supplier sent them anyway. We're expecting the units tomorrow and all preorders will ship once they arrive. X360 VGA and D-Terminal cables will also be available tomorrow. According to Enterbrain (Famitsu) by way of this morning's Bloomberg article, 62,135 units of the Xbox 360 have sold in Japan of the 159,000 total consoles shipped to market.

   They're on the way and scheduled to arrive tomorrow. All preorders will ship on Wednesday and new orders are welcome.
