GC Konjiki no Gashbell! Go! Go! Mamodo Fight - New Import

 NCS Game Synopsis

©NCSX▪ Every millennia, one hundred demons known as mamodo invade the Earth to do battle against each other for the throne of the demon kingdom. In order to activate their spell books and powers on Earth, each mamodo must seek out a human friend and form a bond in order to fight effectively. Join junior high school student Kiyomaro Takamine and his mamodo partner Gash Bell as they take on other pairs of human/demon collaborators in 2D fighting action. Four fighters are on screen at any time and each team member jumps, attacks, and special attacks the opposing team for dominance. Gash's special abilities consist of lightning based attacks which are powered by his red spell book.

NCS Game Notes
* The intro begins with scenes of mamodo battle expertly cut with cel-shaded posturing sequences of the various fighters in the game. The moppet star, Gash Bell, is shown in stylized fighting sequences while cohorts and enemies do the same and transform into alter-egos while a sprightly J-Pop theme song plays.

* Battles are fought in four-player simultaneous battles with teams of two on each side. Even if you're solo, there's a four player battle in progress once the START button is slapped. The action is chaotic with the camera zooming in and out as the fighters range the scope of the level. There's one level that takes place on a highway construction site with steel girders suspended over the main battlefield. The girders will fall every few seconds to knock a hapless victim standing underneath and do damage. The power/health of each fighter is listed on the top of the screen next to a wide-mouthed portrait of each characters. Another stage takes place on top of a plane which is flying lowacross a city. The top-side portion of the plane has been sliced away so that the fighters may battle on two levels.

* Movement may be controlled via D-pad or L-analog. The X button jumps and O button attacks. To enact a special attack, hit SQUARE or guard by tapping R1. Special attacks and functions may be picked up on screen which turn a battler into a goliath to do mass damage on enemies. Special items that may be picked up include a car which allows a fighter to zoom across the screen and mow down anyone in its way.

* In the standard STORY MODE of the game, players may select from eight teams.
