GBA Ochainu no Bouken Jima - New Import

NCS Game Synopsis
©NCSX▪ Hit the islands with leaf-eared dog and cat and engage in platform action including vine swinging, block pushing, log hopping, seesaw jumping, waterspout leaping, and other odd exercises. Upon selecting a beast, color it to your taste and set it loose on the wilds. Want an orange kitten with red ears and a tiara on top of its head? DONE. Dogs are similarly well colored and accessorized with aviator goggles, headphones, and bandanas available. The action is simple and the colors inordinately bright.

NCS Game Notes
* Ochainu no Bouken Jima ia clearly targeted towards the younger set. In one level, players may control a kitty kat and pad across a platform. A whale is waiting with its spout going full blast. Leap on to of the complacent whale's head and wait for the jet of water to descend and then hop upon it, only to be lofted skyward. Once one with the cloud overhead, hop and attack green slime beasts that are moving atop each powder puff cloud.

* In another scene, gamers control a floppy-eared dog that meanders a mountainside and uses its prodigious ears to glide across chasms. Kitties may jump and double jump for additional lift and distance to reach platforms and to gain firmer footing on leaves, seesaws or other platforms. Dogs don't need to double jump, they have flapping ears for short distance flight capability. The animals are versatile beasts and may use their paws to grasp vines to swing across great distances where only vines provide the mode of quick transport. In some areas, seesaws are used to gain height by bounding onto it and then gauging where the beast will land. For some reason, there's always a counterbalancing critter sitting at a seesaw and waiting for your pet to arrive.

* In addition to platform action, there are mini-games galore such as hopscotch, crab hunting, carton pushing to drop them into holes so areas are accessible, cloud jumping to gather colorful globes, a marble tossing basketball game, a clone of Frogger where doggies crosses a river by hopping on logs, and double-dutch jump rope.

* There's a house decoration game where the cats and dogs can bring all manner of consumer products into a cottage and decorate it with teapots, entertainment centers, chairs, tables, clocks. Dogs may be also be positioned inside as one sees fit. The house is viewed by way of a cut-away isometric perspective where and entire floor is viewed from the side. Since the houses are compartmentalized inside, each room can be used and decorated for a specific purposes.
