 ŠNCSX▪ When munchkin-like renditions of Earth Federation and Zeon officers aren't conspiring against each other, they engage in relatively friendly games of mahjong. Sure, there's trash talking at the table but at least no one's packing heat or a beam saber. Recreate the rivalry between Ray Amuro and Char Aznable away from the battlefield or throw any four of the twelve characters into a raucous game of MJ. Standard mahjong rules apply and a single player may challenge three COM-controlled opponents in a Story Mode where the characters voice their threats and delusions of grandeur from a database of over 1000 different sayings. For players who are surrounded by like-minded Gundam-Mahjong fans with NDS' in hand, link up wirelessly to play some fevered MJ action.

   ŠNCSX▪ The body gradually loses vim and vigor as age whittles away its youthful potency. Similarly, age whittles away the mind as one reaches the golden years. To prevent the loss of brain power, Professor Kawashima of Touhoku University advocates the use of simple brain exercises that consist of reading, speaking, arithmetic, piano key tapping, writing hiragana (Chinese characters), memorization, and many variations thereof. There's also a Dr. Mario game and a janken game where the Japanese words for rock-scissors-paper are shouted into the microphone. A daily record may be kept to show your performance by way of a chart and up to four individuals may save their records and track their historical performances. For group activity, up to 16 Nintendo DS users may link up to 1 NDS+cart.

   ŠNCSX▪ Bubby and Bobby are back to conquer foes and levels with rainbow power. Whereas Bub and Bob used their legs to move around in the original Rainbow Islands, they're now encapsulated in bubbles which float around the screen. Drag them with the stylus to and fro to confront foes. Utilizing the Nintendo DS stylus, standard rainbow arches may be drawn and then dropped onto beasts while circular rainbows may be scribbled to capture enemies and dispatch them. A triangle-shaped doodle creates a temporary vortex which vacuums up foes in the local vicinity. The supply of rainbow drawing power is limited by a meter which prevents haphazard use of rainbow attacks. Bub and Bob battle little beasts as well as end level bosses across seven islands which feature four stages each within them.

   ŠNCSX▪ Medicom releases 400% Star Wars Storm Trooper Kubricks which feature Luke Skywalker and Han Solo in the regulation issue armor of the Empire's foot soldiers. Each figure is sold under the Kubrick 400% label with a measurement of 28cm or 11.02" tall. As shown in the photos, the Storm Trooper helmets are removable to show the a smirking Han or a stoic Luke. Each hero also carries a blaster in case their ruse is uncovered by a suspicious Vader.
   The production is limited to only 2,000 pieces of each figure. Once they're gone, they're gone forever. The retail price is Y7700 or US$89 from NCS.

   ŠNCSX▪ When the Autobots look for refreshment, they apparently reach out for a Pepsi instead of a can of Coke or a double fudgy Yoo-hoo.
   The Pepsi Convoy trailer holds a bottle of Pepsi horizontally or two 350ml cans upright. If you're a hoarder of bottle caps, a whole crop of caps may be tossed onto the back. The package includes a cardboard replica of a Pepsi Twist bottle which is rolled inside and lit upon the trailer. Takara expects to sell 15,000 units of the Pepsi Convoy in the first year but we're guessing repaints next year might help to add to <more>

   ŠNCSX▪ When KOS-MOS isn't destroying Gnosis or protecting Shion from danger, she poses like a covergirl for toy sculptors. First, there was the Mon-sieur Bome variation and now Alter's version reaches market. After inspecting this new variant carefully, we can safely declare that Namco should have hired Alter to produce the KOS-MOS figure that was bundled inside the limited edition of Xenosaga Ep. II. If they had made that decision, the aftermarket price would be outrageously higher than where it is now. Succinctly then, Alter's rendition of KOS-MOS is exquisite. Measuring 21cm or 8.26" tall, the blue-haired android features soft lines, the right curves, and a unique pose that allows for viewing parts of KOS-MOS' front and back at the same time. The paint is applied cleanly and free of chips or cracks. We also observed KOS-MOS' garter to make sure it was free of imperfections as well as her fingers... which are individually sculpted and discernible.

   ŠNCSX▪ There was a blazing sunset a few days ago (December 23) and we have a few interesting photos. The clouds, haze, or whatever they were formed lines, strokes, and even plumes on the sky like a water painting. We dubbed the cloud figure in the photo to the left, "The Jester" because it looked like a jester's body in profile. The photos posted are untouched and unmodified except for the resizing to fit them in a 640x480 table.
