NCS Game Synopsis

After
selling over 13,000 copies of the original Oanechan
Bara, D3 Publisher aims to repeat the sales
performance with a bloodier action-packed sequel.
Professional lady assassins battle the undead once
more in a 3D sword swinging action game where body
parts and blood shower the levels. Zombies are
incarnating right out of the ground and only two
killer amazons and a little sister can stem the
barrage. Slow, shaky, and strangely resolute, the
zombies appear in waves and attack in numbers. If
they only had the sense to gang up and mount a
concerted attack, they might have a chance but in
their current vegetative state, they're mostly wheat
to the sisters' sickles.
* Please note that only a partial

tomorrow and we will fill the remainder of our

NCS Game Notes
*
Tamsoft developed the game for D3 publisher. Tamsoft
is best known for the Toshinden series of games on
the original Playstation.
* Before the title screen shows up, the following
text appears to scare off the faint of heart:
"Warning. This game contains scenes of explicit
violence and gore."
* The mode select screen allows for the following
selections:
STORY - Follow the convoluted tale and
hacks n' slash to find little sister
SURVIVAL - Battle endless waves zombies that
incarnate infinitely
PRACTICE - Test your hacking skills with Aya,
the cowboy hat wearing sista QUEST - Twelve
special missions - need to be unlocked before
they're playable
OPTION - Set difficulty, sound volume,
vibration, save/load data
A B-movie song plays in the background where a woman
occasionally moans out, "Yeah, C'mon" and wails "uuuhuuwooah"
* At the outset of the game, only the motorcycle
helmeted biker chick is a selectable character in
STORY MODE but Aya is the only gal available in
SURVIVAL and PRACTICE mode.
* The controls are simple - L-analog moves and
R-analog swivels the camera. In the case of Aya, the
SQUARE button performs a sword slash and it may be
pressed four times in sequence to pull off a
slashing combo which ends with a leaping sword
stroke. The "O" button throws out shuriken and the
TRIANGLE button performs a kick. Aya may jump and
double-jump with taps of the "X" button. To target
an enemy and highlight it in a green haze, hit the
R1 trigger.
* When going full blast on a zombie, the first
frontal attack lops off the head and the next blow
splits its torso from the legs and launches both
arms backwards. Of course, jets of blood puddle on
the floor and spurt from the hapless zombie's hacked
open torso.
* Ravens are present in some levels and they attack
by dive bombing and pecking once. The zombies in the
game are fairly hideous and lumber along in slow and
painful drag. As a fighting force, they're largely
ineffectual and are conquered by even the worst
joypad pusher. In later areas, there are zombies
that appear to have been self immolated. Why are
they burning? There's no visible source of fire but
there they are, lumbering along afire.
* After a particularly fruitful killing session,
Aya's sword pours down streams of blood that
splatter on the floor. A blood covered sword will
cause it to stick inside a zombie's body because of
the gooey gluey attraction between clotted blood.
There are times when Aya's sword gets stuck inside a
zombie's body and she'll have a hard time
withdrawing it as other zombies close in for the
kill. To avoid this embarrassing predicament, hit
the L1 trigger when the sword (indicated on the left
side of the screen) is covered with blood. Aya will swish
the sword and knock all the clots and crimson off
the sword so it's shiny and slicing cleanly again.
* Since Aya's garb... or lack thereof is so unusual,
NCS is compelled to describe it in exacting detail.
On her head, Aya wears a leopard-spotted cowboy hat
followed by a purple feather boa which is wrapped
around her left. The boa trails along her back.
Her breasts are cupped together with a red bikini
and a gun belt circles her waist. Peer behind the
gun belt to observe her matching red bikini bottom.
Her arms are covered with theater gloves that don't
match each other. Her right leg slips into a white
lace piece of hosiery while her left leg is covered
by sheer hosiery that is helf up by a red garter. In
case you're wondering, her shoes match the bikini.
In essence, Aya looks like she just crawled out of
the Salvation Army lingerie section.
* The gal with twin ponytails (Lian Chan) groans out
a storm when swinging her sword and spraying monster
gore all over the floor. She's a little thing so
carrying a broadsword must take a lot of effort. The
helmeted sister swings a samurai sword in her right
arm and cocks a rifle in her left arm. When a zombie
is blasted by the rifle, the entire top half of its
body explodes into a puddle of blood. Slashing a
zombie also causes decapitates it, whacks off limbs,
and truncates it into body parts.
* In the Now Loading screen, a sketch of Aya
confronts a blue zombie. Unfortunately, there is no
animation and the two stand there like sticks of
wood.
