PS2 The Aka-Champion: Come On Baby - Belated Import

NCS Game Synopsis
©NCSX▪ The three largest dairy companies in the world team up to engineer a concoction known as "super milk" which is bursting with nutrition and goodness. When normal babies take a slurp of the amazing milk, they gain abnormal strength and are compelled to enter sporting events which test their newfound athleticism. Choose one of six babies and compete in 30 events which are split into Summer and Winter challenges. When the babies participate in Summer games, they take a flight to Hawaii while Winter sports take place in the Swiss Alps. The events consist of simple button-slapping mini-games which require rapid-fire as well as opportune wagging of the d-pad or joystick. Perform well and watch the babies exult like champions...

NCS Game Notes
* The game was developed by ExPotato for D3 Publisher.

* In the intro to the game, an announcer yells out, "C'mon Baby" and a gang of babies hurtle towards the viewer amidst the backdrop of dark space.

* The names of the babies featured are Doogie, Zambie, Panpan, Donburi, Momoka, Cafleo. We look forward to the day when parents start using the names for their own children.

* Upon starting the game, players are given the choice of Summer Sports or Winter Sports.

* Button-mashing Mini-games include:

1) Shoot snowballs at skaters in the distance who are doing their thing on the half-pipe.

2) Waddle along a short platform which is held aloft while an ape hangs on underneath and causes it to become unbalanced

3) Go ice-pick climbing up a icy wall against a number of equally ambitious competitors

4) Push a snowball uphill and then push an opponent with similar snowball once the twain meet at the top of the hill

5) Crawl towards the finish line and eventually dash/jump onto a group of sumo wrestlers who cushion the baby's fall.

6) Baby sumo wrestling where each one smacks and pushes.

7) Babies swim up from the depths of the ocean while being held down by a ball and chain (has to be seen to be believed).

8) Pull a horned beast by its tail and then launch it for distance.

9) Baby dancing (press the button cues as shown) while a huge crowd watches

10) Popping balloons on pans across a race course against a competitor.

11) Aerial dive where babies flap with paper "wings" to gain altitude and slow their plummeting descent.

12) Play snow soccer with snowmen as goal tenders.

13) Two-on-two snowball fight where babies stand on elevated platforms that rise and fall.

14) Wacky fast-paced dancing where buttons are pounded furiously.

15) Baby crawling obstacle course where bouncing balls and bombs bounce towards the athletes.

16) Boat paddling and battle - use the paddle to bash competitors and slow their progress

17) Big penguin toss - grab a blue penguin by its feet, turn around a few times, and hurl it for distance.

18) Snowboard smacking - grab a snowboard and whack a fellow with it in toe-to-toe action

19) While being chased by an angry polar bear, race and jump across platforms towards the finish line.

20) Compete against a monkey in speed skating.

21) Chase an ape in a car and throw snowballs at it - accuracy earns points.

.... and a few more.

* If babies complete the events in good time, they'll cheer and clown around. If they fail, they'll sit there and blubber their tears away.
