After the ravages of the Seven Year War, the
denizens of Neverland slowly rebuild. Despite the
gradual sway towards order, the balance of the world
is uneven, caused by the absence of some forms of
magic. Enter an amnesia-addled mercenary
named Zeros who unearths an artifact which may hold
the key to resolving the equilibrium of Neverland.
Zeros joins up with a number of fellow travelers
including a gruff warrior named Duzer and a
morose young girl named Andel who seeks answers
for the death of her parents. The party is
eventually engulfed in an adventure which will
affect the future direction of Neverland and its
long suffering citizens.
Similar to earlier S-RPGs from Idea Factory, Zeros and friends
visit the town guild to fetter out missions and open new
lands. Cooperative attacks and powerful Break Arts
techniques are available which ignite massive
damage-inducing roundhouses on hapless targets.
World travel is viewed on an isometric map as Zeros moves and
interacts with the landscape. Objects may
be manipulated to reach higher area or
pushed. Battles are fought on isometric
battlefields where magical effects and Overkills are
shown in flashy animated sequences with bright
conflagrations lighting up the screen. Chain
attacks may
also be launched on targets to impact massive
damage.
NCS Game Notes
* In the intro to the game, Zeros and cohorts
appear in piecemeal fashion and segmented
introductions followed by a "Sell It" sequence where
the heroes trade in their weapons and bracers for
cold hard cash. The theme song that plays is "Sky"
and character classes are shown such as Demon and
Human.
* After starting the game, the recap of the 7 Year
War is given followed by Zeros walking towards the
screen amidst a snowy backdrop. Immediately
afterwards, the scene shifts to an isometric view of
a cobbled street and Zeros walks in and addresses a
blue-furred wolf humanoid. He flips the rifle from
his back and aims it squarely at the cat and a
battle starts.
* Once in the encounter, pressing "X" brings up a
red overlay that appears over the cobblestones which
indicates range of movement. Use the d-pad or
L-analog to highlight a square and press "O" to move
Zeros forward. Attacks may be chosen from a menu of
selections which list the amount of AP required. The
opponents in the first encounter consist of two
orange-colored land-fish (that's what they look
like) and the blue humanoid wolf creature. Powerful
attacks that require high AP will trigger automatic
Overkill sequences where Zeros leaps back and fires
off a massive attack on the target creature and any
hapless beast that's adjacent to the impact point.
Zeros has 15 AP to use in every turn and he may
attack for as many times as his AP will allow. The
first battle is very simple and Zero will gain gold
as well as 7PP and some items after it is over.
* After the encounter, Zeros walks into a dark area
and hits up the concierge for information. Despite
his amnesia, Zeros remembers to be an arrogant
prick. Soon after speaking to the clerk in the front
desk, three warriors approach and join Zeros' party.
The new inductees include Duzer, Andel, and a
fighter who looks a lot like Sephiroth from FFVII.
After the joining ceremony, a map appears and a
pointer rushes NW to Runderaul, an island off the
coast of Chenber. That's the first destination for
the new party of four and they enter an industrial
complex populated by three wolves...
