GBA Hudson Collection Vol. 5 JPN

GBA Hudson Collection Vol. 5: Shooting Collection - New Import
©NCSX▪ Hudson collects the original Famicom versions of Star Force, Star Solider, and Hector '97 in one Gameboy Advance cartridge. All three shooters are of the vertical type where a lone ship takes on waves of whizzing enemy ships and the occasional boss. In the case of Hector '87, the designers mixed vertical and horizontal levels together for a shmup mash-up. To help lone fighter pilots conquer squadrons of enemies, power-ups may be picked up along the way to enhance shot power as well as ship speed. <more>

GBA Hudson Collection Vol. 6 JPN

GBA Hudson Collection Vol. 6: Bouken Jima Collection - New
©NCSX▪ Master Takahashi, cherubic adventurer in leafy diapers, waddles and jumps through action-packed islands. With a flick of the wrist, Takahashi chucks an axe at a snail and shuffles it off this mortal coil. By leaping on top of a skateboard, he immediately dons a helmet and crashes through the levels in rude fashion. Hudson compiles all four Famicom Adventure Island games in one cartridge to thrill a new generation of gamers. Despite their age, the games are enjoyable and playable with responsive controls.

NDS Biohazard DS JPN

NDS Biohazard: Deadly Silence - New Import
©NCSX▪ Hungry zombies roll once again in a dual screen remake of the original Biohazard game from the Playstation. The DS' lower screen displays the action-adventure while the upper screen shows a map of the immediate area. Use gunshots to blow up birds, dogs, and zombies as they ramble along with evil intent. The sound effects add spooky atmosphere and the English voice acting from the original game returns for a entertaining recreation of stoicism. The original black & white live-action intro is also included in the Classic Mode. The Rebirth Mode in the game focuses more on the action aspect of the game where zombies and animals may be attacked with a knife by slashing the stylus across the screen. The puzzles in the Rebirth mode have also been updated to beguile old hands to Biohazard.

NDS Biohazard: Deadly Silence LE - New Import X
©NCSX▪ Biohazard gave gamers a fright when it was released ten years ago and the 3D horror-adventure genre was launched. Capcom gave evil a cracked and decaying face - the visage of undead zombies who chomped on flesh and ambled along in slow and determined fashion. After a couple of rehashes on the Sega Saturn and most recently the Gamecube, Capcom gives it another go with a dual screen version of their horror adventure where Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine reprise their roles inside a house of horrors. The limited edition of Biohazard Deadly Silence includes the following bonus items:

Black NDS Carrying Wallet imprinted with the S.T.A.R.S. logo
S.T.A.R.S. cellphone strap

Due to shortages this week, please note that NCS will fill some preorders for Biohazard DS LE next week. We cannot accept new orders at this time but we'll update accordingly once we have information from Cap's distributor.

NDS
Iron Feather JPN

NDS Iron Feather - New Import
©NCSX▪ A comet courses through the ether of space and its appearance near a planet raises consternation amongst the natives below. When the comet causes spider-like creatures and other beasts to rise up, the worsening situation calls for a hero. Not just any hero. A 13-year old feather-wearing hero who is supported by two similarly feather-adorned friends trained in the use of grafted weaponry. With the comet causing a ruckus, it's up to the trio to travel the world, gather clues, and battle roaming monsters to quell the effects of the comet. Along with hack 'n slash real time action where the three heroes battle creatures, combination attacks and actions may also be ignited by drawing strokes on a diamond shaped action grid.

PSP Lost Magic JPN

NDS Lost Magic - New Import
©NCSX▪ Leaning on the Runic alphabet, Lost Magic implements a rune system where six elemental runes for Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Light and Dark are used to launch powerful spells. The protagonist in the game is a youth who discovers a staff that allows him to wield the power of the elements. In addition to the use of single runes, gamers may also draw out rune scripts where two or more runes are sequenced to create new spells - up to 300 are available in the game. Monsters that are defeated in battle may be added to a stable of sorts where they may be called upon to do battle by your side. Two players may connect via Wi-Fi to pit captured beasts against each other to determine who owns the best monster.

NDS Yakitate! Japan JPN

NDS Yakitate! Japan - New Import
©NCSX▪ Azuma Kazuma's calling in life is baking bread. Gifted with solar palms which activate the yeast in dough while he kneads, Azuma is a single minded individual who aims to create Ja-Pan (a play on the Japanese word Pan, which means bread). In the Nintendo DS adaptation of Azuma's bread obsession, players enter a board-game where competitors rustle up the ingredients to make breads and pastries and build up a business on the boardwalk. Spin the lighted roulette wheel to determine range of movement and then roam around the board to pick up ingredients and trigger actions. Up to three players - human and COM-controlled - may participate in the game and sales are made when competitors land on your shop's location.

PS2 Blazing Souls JPN

PS2 Blazing Souls - New Import
©NCSX▪ After the ravages of the Seven Year War, the denizens of Neverland slowly rebuild. Despite the gradual sway towards order, the balance of the world is uneven, caused by the absence of some forms of magic. Enter an amnesia-addled mercenary named Zeros who unearths an artifact which may hold the key to resolving the equilibrium of Neverland. Zeros joins up with a number of fellow travelers including a gruff warrior named Duzer and a morose young girl named Andel who seeks answers for the death of her parents. The party is eventually engulfed in an adventure which will affect the future direction of Neverland and its long suffering citizens.
Similar to earlier S-RPGs from Idea Factory, Zeros and friends visit the town guild to fetter out missions and open new lands. Cooperative attacks and powerful Break Arts techniques are available which ignite massive damage-inducing roundhouses on hapless targets. World travel is viewed on an isometric map as Zeros moves and interacts with the landscape. Objects may be manipulated to reach higher area or pushed. Battles are fought on isometric battlefields where magical effects and Overkills are shown in flashy animated sequences with bright conflagrations lighting up the screen. Chains attacks may also be launched on targets to impact massive damage.

PS2 Rule of Rose JPN

PS2 Rule of Rose - New Import
©NCSX▪ Set in 1930 England, players adopt the role of a 19 year old woman named Jennifer who is caught up in a surreal 3D adventure tinged with touches of madness and the preternatural. To combat the wicked and seemingly winsome, Jennifer's weapons include a fork, a pipe, hypodermic needle, and spaded shovel. Jen eventually befriends a dog name Brown that may rush ahead in an attack reminiscent of Shadow Dancer (or Hewie from Demento) while Jen brings up the rear with a walloping whack of the shovel to dislodge attackers. Among the enemies that creep around in the darkly lit game world, evil white rabbits in black jackets attack by hopping on Jennifer but she may grab them and hurl them to the ground. Jennifer keeps track of objects and items in the game on a chalk-lined blackboard. Her gifts to the cast of girls may also be tracked on the blackboard as she hands them out each month throughout the course of the game.
Rule of Rose is disturbing. The imagery of the children featured in the game is disturbing. NCS plans a full write-up for Rule of Rose which we'll post up later today or tomorrow. We'll include disturbing details... Preorders for this game have been strong and we are sold out as of this morning. Restock is scheduled to arrive next week for new orders.

PSP SFZ3 Double Upper JPN

PSP Street Fighter Zero 3: Double Upper - New Import
©NCSX▪ Years after capturing the hearts of fighting game fans, Capcom reissues a portable version of Street Fighter Zero 3 which includes a new Tag Team battle mode where 2-on-2 bouts are raging like a truncated King of Fighters. Four new fighters have also been added to the PSP version - Eagle, Maki, and Yun from Capcom vs SNK 2 and the indomitable Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Jam. To further the fun, a Wi-Fi Battle Mode allows up to eight players to link up and battle in impromptu competitions that take place in the middle of the street, at the food court, or any other location where your fighting spirits wells up from within.  Game modes include the standard Arcade Mode, a World Tour Mode for beginners to train, and an Dramatic Battle Mode for 2-on-2 fighting action.
In addition to the game, Capcom bundles a special d-pad cover with every copy. On the PS2 and PSP, the D-pad is problematic for fighting games. The empty space in the center of the directional wedges creates a rift which leads to disjointed movement of the thumb as it shifts around and semi-circle movements are difficult. Capcom comes to the rescue with something that should have been released years ago... a D-pad overlay which covers the pad and removes the rift entirely.
Please note that a partial shipment of SFZ3 arrived today. The remainder is expected tomorrow and Friday - all orders shipping this week will include the bonus d-pad cover. Subsequent shipments will likely not include it as supplies of the item are limited and only given away in the first batch by Capcom.

PSP Ys Ark of Napishtim JPN

PSP Ys The Ark of Napishtim - New Import
©NCSX▪ Siblings Isha and Olha are relaxing at the Moonset Shore when Olha spies a piece of red-topped detritus that has washed ashore. Upon closer inspection, she realizes that it's an Eresian. An armor-wearing Eresian named Adol Christian. She tells her sister Isha to keep an eye on the stranger while she notifies the village of the drifter. Silva and Largo eventually carry the unconscious Adol into town on the beck of Olha.
After Adol awakens from his slumber and introductions are made, he tells of how his ship was attacked by Romun vessels and then by the Great Vortex which spun him like driftwood and discharged him onto the beach. Olha introduces herself as a Priestess and answers Adol's first batch of questions which help him get his bearings. After meeting the other folk in Olha's village, Adol ventures off in another adventure where he wanders around Canaan, befriends Olha and Isha, and battles against powers great and small...
Adol's attacks are shown in real time action where the red-headed hero swings, jumps, and dash-attacks in full motion action sequences. In addition to conventional attacks, Adol may also perform a downward thrust and learn new sword skills such as the Extended Wind Attack and the Extended Lightning Attack. Elemental swords also allow Adol to launch special magical attacks such as cyclones and lightning.
The PSP version of Ys: The Ark of Napishtim includes a normal and a hard difficulty level for players of varying skill. There's also a Boss Time Attack mode and mini-games to enjoy.
