PS2 Oretachi Game Center: Quarth - New Import

NCS Game Synopsis
©NCSX▪ The year is 199X and gravity has gone awry in the cosmos. A destructive phenomenon known only as Quarth is born which is advancing through space and headed for Earth. If Quarth reaches planetside, mass devastation will occur. To stop the madness, a single ship is sent out to greet Quarth and fill in the squares...

Tetris shapes are falling from the heavens but instead of rotating them to create complete layers below, the aim is to shoot single portion blocks at the shapes to create complete squares/rectangles. A red cursor indicates the location of your shot on screen. Larger squares/rectangles ramp up the score per formation. Once filled up, the squares/rectangles disappear from screen. You and Mother Earth are lost if blocks touch the bottom of the screen. There's a 2D cooperative mode where two players shoot blocks upwards to create squares/rectangles big and small.

In addition to the Quarth game on a CD-Rom, the Oretachi package also includes a miniature Music CD which contains background music from the game along with a remix track, a miniature DVD which features an expert gamer in action, a thin booklet on the game, a trading card, and a thin image capture booklet.

NCS Game Notes
* There's 2 types of 2-player VS modes - TYPE A speeds up the opponent's block-drop speed as you create squares/rectangles combos. TYPE B sends blocks that are lined up on the opponent's playfield (starts at the top of screen and then heads downwards) as you create squares/rectangles. The game ends for your opponent when too many lines fill up and touch the bottom of the screen or if he falters in his own squares/rectangles creations.

* When the squares/rectangles are being cleared from screen, the other falling blocks stop their descent. You can continue shooting blocks up to create squares/rectangles fillers while they're halted for a nice strategic advantage.
