NDS Eyeshield 21 JPN

NDS Eyeshield 21: Max Devil Power - New Import
«©NCS» Sena Kobayakawa is the favorite whipping boy of the Hah-Hah Brothers. Under their tyrannical bullying, Sena develops speed and dexterity by evading them on a daily basis. Why are they called the Hah-Hah brothers when they're not comedians, you ask? More appropriately, they should be called the "Hah-Hah-Hah?" brothers since that's what the three goons intonate in sequence when they're standing around and faced with adversity. Once Sena Kobayakawa gets to high school and joins the Devil Bats Football team at Deimon High School, his life changes and he becomes the mysterious football hero known as Eyeshield 21. Devil Bats teammates Yoichi Hiruma and Ryokan Kurita gave Sena a helmet outfitted with a green visor to protect his identity and present him as a sort of secret »more»

NDS Hippatte! Puzzle Bobble JPN

NDS Hippatte! Puzzle Bobble - New Import
«©NCS» Once upon a time, two dragons shot colored bubbles from a cannon that swiveled to and fro. Times change, cannons rust, and dragons find new ways of doing things. In the case of Hippatte! Puzzle Bobble, bubbles are launched from an old school method - a sling shot. Bub and Bob stand apart from each other and grasp one end of the rubber band. Using the NDS stylus, tap on the center of the elastic band that's cradling a bubble and pull it back until taut and tight. Release the bubble and watch as it rockets through the screen. The gist is to target like-colored bubbles with each projectile to knock them from the screen. In addition to a solo mode, there's a puzzle mode, an endless mode, and a CPU VS mode. Up to 5 players may also link up for competitive action.

PS2 Ar tonelico JPN

PS2 Ar Tonelico - New Import
«©NCS» The world of Sol Shell is made up of floating cities built on archipelagos that dot the skies. The other major feature on the planet is a sky scraping tower which pokes above the cloud cover and extends into the upper atmosphere. The top portion of the tower holds a city called Platina which is governed by the protagonist's father. As the game begins, the hero Rainar Barselt is joined by fellow knight Ayatane Michitaka as the top portion of the tower comes under attack. With the shaking walls and floors, Rainar, Ayatana, and a third cohort stake out and begin their adventure. Rainar eventually meets a number of heroines who belong to a race known as the Levantiel. The Levantial girls chant and sing songs called Humnos which may be used to heal or to impact powerful damage on enemies.
Ar Tonelico plays like a standard RPG where Rainar roams a colorful 3D and walks into random encounters against creatures. Battles are fought on side-view encounters where simple commands are executed by scrolling through them with the L-Analog stick. Interaction sequences relay the story and an item synthesis system allows the hero to create new objects from base ingredients. A love system is present where the hero's actions affect how a female party member feels towards him.

PS2 Law of Ueki JPN

PS2 Law of Ueki - Belated Import
«©NCS» Ueki Kosuke goes to high school and lives the life of an average teenager. Everything is the model of normalcy until his teacher grants him the power of speedy recycling. Ueki's new ability changes trash to trees in the blink of an eye. Greenpeace would love this guy. With his new power, Ueki and his teacher Kobayashi sensei enter the "Battle of the Supernatural Powers" and face off against 98 opponents to win the ultimate prize - the Talent of Blank. The winner gets to choose whatever power he/she desires, like a super hero tabula rasa. With such a valuable power at stake, fighters will do whatever it takes to win...
In the PS2 game, Ueki battles assorted goons and competitors in 2D scrolling action with pseudo 3D features. For example, every stage has 4 planes on which Ueki may move to avoid foes or close in on an intended target. Ueki's powers are instantaneous in that trees pop out from his hands like second nature. A standard tree attack spurts out a little tree but hold the tree attack button longer and a larger tree eventually juts out and rams into anyone unfortunate enough to stand in its way. In addition to tree power, Ueki may also throw out punches to perform jumping attacks to shuffle up his attack repertoire.

PS2 Tourist Trophy JPN

PS2 Tourist Trophy - New Import
«©NCS» Tourist Trophy refers to the motorcycle races which take place on the Isle of Man. In Polyphony Digital's latest racing game, players ride on two wheels instead of four where pedals and air are all that separates rider from asphalt floor. The mechanics and maneuverability of a motorbike are radically different from that of a car. For example, when turning left on a bike, the lean to the left starts by turning the front wheel to the right which is known as countersteering. Polyphony has engineered a highly technical racing game which takes into account rider posture as well as the positioning of a bike as it races through a curved track to determine if wipeout is imminent. Unlike other motorcycle racing games where one may jump in and zoom off without practicing first, Tourist Trophy requires a bit of patience, a fair amount of learning, and subtle tweaking of the ride as one shoots through hairpin turns. The rudimentary control scheme works well where the L-Analog controls side to side movement of the rider and the R-Analog accelerates and decelerates the bike. When playing with manual transmission, the R1 and L1 triggers shift up and down while the L2 trigger tucks the body. No other controls are required although the SELECT button changes camera views from visor view to a behind-the-rider perspective. »NCS Game Notes»
