 NDS Nintendo DS Lite - Preorders
«©NCS» After the official announcement last week, Nintendo's distributors have started preorders for the NDS Lite which ships on March 2, 2006. Slightly slimmer and sleeker than the swarthy girth of the current Nintendo DS, the Lite measures 133 x 73.90 x 21.50 mm (L x W x H) or 5.23 x 2.90 x 0.84" for us yanks. For comparison's sake, the original NDS rang in at 148.70 × 84.70 × 28.9mm or 5.85 x 3.33 x 1.13" stateside.

   The NDS Lite tips the scale at 218g or 0.48 lbs compared to the original NDS' 275g or 0.60 lbs. In addition to its smaller size, the NDS Lite also features four adjustable levels of screen brightness. Pricing is set at Y16,800 or US$169 from NCS when the units ship in March.

   Please note that NCS is only accepting preorders for the white shell version of the NDS Lite today. Additional colors are expected but distributors have only started preorders for the white NDS Lite as of last night.

«©NCS» Like a hawk anticipating fresh prey, accessory manufacturer Keys Factory has started preorders for two new NDS Lite accessories which ship in late March 2006:

DS Touch Pen Pure - Since no photos were included with the Touch Pen Pure product solicitation, it's unclear what makes it Pure. We're assuming a crisp and compact design and the absence of any vestiges that might make it impure. Available in four colors (Cider, Lamennais, Melon, and Orange).

Silicon Jacket DS - Slip the NDS Lite in a flexible case which sheaths the top and bottom NDS parts in a protective silicon jacket. Apparently, the silicon provides both bounce and a little bit of shock absorption if your clumsy hands should ever send the NDS clattering to the concrete sidewalk.

Adverse Weather Delays
   Due to two separate flight delays from the Customs brokerage in Anchorage AK, the arrivals of this week's new imports and restock shipments have been pushed to tomorrow. According to the National Weather Service, the snow in Anchorage should end early this morning. Flights should resume later today and arrive on Friday.
Bleach DS
   Please note that Sega's reproduction of NDS Bleach that was expected this week has been rescheduled to February 15-17, 2006. All backorders will ship once the game is restocked. Of course, if the production is finished any earlier, we'll update our customers accordingly and ship backorders with the quickness of Hermes.
Mary, Elie, and Anise Atelier
   Banpresto has opened preorders for three lower-priced reissues of Gameboy software: Mary, Elie, and Anise no Atelier, Dragon Ball Z Bukuu Tougeki, and Dragon Ball Z Advance Adventure which ship on March 23.
