PS2 Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition - New Import

NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCSX» A younger Dante shares a haircut with Little Nicky (as personified by one Adam Sandler) and even as a whippersnapper, emotes nonchalance in the face of certain death. DMC3 serves as a prequel to the series where Dante's fractious relationship with twin brother Vergil is the focus. New mechanics in the game feature six fighting styles which Dante may adopt. Four styles are available at the outset of the game and continual use of one discipline eventually levels up Dante's skill in that particular fighting style with marked improvements in moves and overall ability.

Initial fighting styles

1) Gun Slinger - Blazing shooting skills courtesy of Ebony and Ivory, a laser rigle, shotgun, and others
2) Royal Guard - Strong defense (shield, block) along with a strong offense
3) Sword Master - Chop chop with Rebellion or any other bladed weapon such as the Cerberus
4) Trickster - Work the room with evasive maneuvers, wall walking, and general stylish flair

A new trick that Dante may use is the "Hell Trigger" where tapping "L1" changes Dante into his demonic form when the hell gauge is filled. DMC3 contains twenty missions of considerable difficulty at the normal setting and will prove challenging to jaded gamers.

NCS Game Notes & Spoilers
*
The Special Edition of DMC3 allows gamers to play the game as Vergil and attack with his trademark Dark Fighter Style.

*
A new boss, a turbo mode, and a new difficulty level also make it into the game to make it worthwhile for fans to open wallets once again.

* The intro to the game introduces the demon Sparda and the effort that he made for humankind as narrated by a woman. Sparda shut the demonic forces from humankind by sealing the gate with his sword. She talks of meeting the two sons of Sparda who battled each other and seemingly enjoyed their sibling rivalry betwixt each other. In the intro, one brother slays the other.

* The phone rings and Dante emerges to pop the phone up to his ear in stylistic flair and grabs a slice of pizza. Outside the door, a bald-headed gentleman looks up and enters the room. He gives Dante an invitation from his brother and kicks up the desk. Demonic warriors enter and skewer Dante with their swords but he walks it off and drops a ceiling fan on them. After some more hijinx and pizza eating, Dante proceeds to clear the room of unwanted guests.

* Dante is modeled to be too cool for school but it gets a little tired after shenanigans beget shenanigans for the sake of it. Subtle is cool. Obvious isn't.

* The scythe wielding warriors at the outset of the game don't present much of a challenge but the red-robed ones that arrive later can perform a quick slash move that will take away 1 life bar from Dante.
