PSP Sakura Taisen 1 & 2 - New Import

NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCSX» Hanagumi heroines originally captured the imagination of Saturn gamers in 1996 and a phenomenon was born. After Sakura Taisen became a smash hit in Japan and in select circles stateside, Sega and Red capitalized on the popularity of the characters by releasing three Sakura themed mini-game/interaction releases (Sakura Taisen Hanagumi Tsuushin, Sakura Taisen Steam Radio Show, and Sakura Taisen: Tekigeki Graph) along with Sakura Taisen 2 on the Saturn. After successful reissue stints on the Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and Gameboy, Sega turns its sights on the PSP.

Sakura Taisen for the Saturn took up 2 CD-Roms and Sakura Taisen 2 ate up the space of 3 CD-Roms. That's about 3 gigs of data that's been compressed and packed into a single PSP UMD. Playing through the first game this morning, we're impressed with the quality of the visuals and the retention of the voices, music, and cinemas.

In the first game, players adopt the persona of Ensign Ichirou Oogami who has been assigned to the Teikoku Kagekidan Hana division. Charged with the defense of Teito, Oogami commands a troupe of women warriors who in turn commandeer mecha known as Steam Punks. In the first scene of the game, Oogami meets Sakura
Shinguuji at Ueno Park where he's surprised that he's being greeted by a woman who is taking him to the Great Imperial Theater where additional surprises await.

Sakura Taisen 2 takes place a year after the events of the first game where Ichirou reunites with Sakura and the Great Imperial Theater once again serves as the base of covert operations...
