PSP Tokimeki Memorial: Forever with You - New Import

NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCSX» Konami gave love a chance in 1994 when the company tested the whims of a fickle market with a game titled Tokemeki Memorial. As is always the case with genre defining pioneers, no one at Konami knew if Tokimeki would catch on or fall by the wayside, unnoticed and unloved by uncaring fans. Fortunately for the dating game genre, Tokimeki Memorial set hearts afire on the PC-Engine and eventually made its way to the Playstation, the Saturn, and the Super Famicom. The game would also inspire sequels, side stories, books, and mass merchandising year in and year out. Then came the waves of clones and copycats. Clones which enjoyed sequels and large fan followings of their own.

Konami revisits the first Tokimeki Memorial game where Kirameki High School serves as the nexus of teenage hormones and confessions of love underneath a Tree of Legend. As the game starts, the protagonist is speaking to his best friend Yoshio Saotome when he spies the lovely Shiori Fujisaki. Fair of skin and blessed with a fiery wave of perfectly cut tresses, Shiori is a dream girl. But she's not the only one - Kirameki High School brims with attractive maidens who all provide prospects for your dating life...

Enjoying Tokimeki Memorial on the PSP is a novelty for gamers who have already won the hearts of the 13 gals in the game. That's right, 13 since one of them is playing the Crying Game...in reverse. However, Konami didn't put much work into the game and it's basically a 1:1 conversion of the original release. That means no wide screen mode and no bells or whistles to provide added value for anyone
who already owns the PC-Engine, Playstation or Saturn version.

NCS Game Notes
»
During a date with a girl, rowdy thugs may accost the two of you and raise a ruckus. Once an encounter starts, it's time to battle back and the various girls will help in the impromptu warfare. Perform well and your street cred grows in the eyes of the girl. Flounder during the offensive and she'll look at you with less admiration.

» Tokimeki Memorial is just a game. However, the social interactions are modeled fairly accurately on actual human behavior. For example, the girls in the game form a social circle and word gets around quickly. If you're a cad or a juggler, expect to get bombed by the girls as word of your repute gets around.

» The storyline in Tokimeki Memorial takes place over three years in High School and the aim is to get a girl to confess her love to you underneath the Tree of Legend. Once a girl's heart is won at the end of your High School stint, an ending sequence plays which shows the girl professing her feelings.
