NCS Game Synopsis
 «©NCSX» Belligerent empires in the world of Ys are conspiring against each other and armies are on the march. The Ys brand name generally isn't known for real time strategy gaming but Marvelous takes a chance on the genre with backing by Falcom's famous franchise.

   Players are adopted by the Kingdom of Esteria which has a champion in Abel Renford, a mighty swordsman suffering from amnesia who bears a passing resemblance to Adol Christian. Arrayed against Esteria are the empires of Romun, Afroka, Gria, and others. Able-bodied generals and warriors from each kingdom marshal their forces against each other in tactical campaigns that decide a nation's destiny.

   The bottom NDS screen captures the action where forces are commanded and marshaled out to war while the top NDS screen shows a world map and empire stats. Similar to other RTS games, players are charged with unit production, resource management, and warfare against neighboring principalities. The game may be played in Single Mode, a Multi-player Mode for up to 4 players, and a Scenario Mode.

   The stylus is used quick unit selection and movement. The construction of certain buildings will allow the production of new types of infantry and troops. Livestock may also be kept and the castle can be upgraded to produce cavalry and weapons to attack enemy castles. Finally, ports may be built for producing ships such as fishing boats and battleships to bolster the overall health and defense of the kingdom.
