Game Synopsis

December 2010. It's a rainy Christmas Eve and the
ceremony to celebrate the completion of an
underground city is in full swing. The mayor is on
stage and speaking to a crowd that mills around and
murmurs. Geo City has been in development for years
and the builders have achieved the efficient use of
space underneath the city of Tomisaka. Outside, the
heavy rains continue to fall and Haneshiro River is
beginning to crest. The storm drains have also
stopped draining....
As a server at the ceremony, players take control of a worker who
stands at attention and helps guests with mundane
tasks. In the middle portion of the ballroom,
there's a woman on all fours who's looking for
something on the carpet. Help her locate a
glittering bauble that's nearby and then fetch a
drink for the mayor. After completing some other
objectives, the game moves into disaster mode when
something big breaks and water begins to flood into
the entire complex.
From server to action hero, Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2 offers a
somewhat believable premise where an ordinary
citizen gets involved in an extraordinary scenario.
At the outset of the game, you'll hook up with a
fellow server named Haruka who provides back up and
support. The ultimate objective is to escape from
the flooded underground city but along the way, it's
possible to rescue or provide aid to fellow
survivors.
Since water saps body heat, players have to find ways to keep dry
such as sources of heat. Your temperature is metered
by a gauge marked TP and if it drops precariously
low, you'll go sluggish and eventually perish.
NCS Game Notes
* After the irem logo, it's Christmas time with
a familiar jingle when disaster strikes and
thousands of gallons of water assault the denizens
of the underground development of Geo City. The
intro consists of game play sequences where water is
everywhere.
* At the title screen, the available selections are
START GAME / LOAD GAME / TUTORIAL / OPTION.
* OPTIONS allow for screen positioning, Dual Shock
vibration toggle, controller configuration, and
color settings.
* The Tutorial is recommended since it teaches the
basics of control and game play. The lessons start
off with the protagonist in front of an elevator
door. To his left is a poster and door opens and he
walks into a room where he's greeted by a girl in a
blue outfit. She leads him to a room where a big
hedgehog is moving around - it's a guy in a costume
with a big zipper in the back of the pants. As if
presenting an omen, the protagonist is later doused
with a bucket of water by a careless maid above the
training room. Later in the room, protagonist is
doused with a short jet of water and is trained on
how to go near a heater to dry himself which he does
with a sigh of relief. Being waterlogged slows your
movements and fatigues your character faster.
* After completing the tutorial, run to your right
and enter the door marked with the blinking green
"3". In this room, you're taught how to catch
people's attention by bellowing. Press L1 to yell
out, "OYYY" at the big hedgehog. It'll turn around
and utter, "Eh?" Next, move the swivel chair out of
the way and press R1 to crouch down and crawl to
meet the rotund hedgehog.
* After that, there's two more training missions
upstairs which also involve the fat hedgehog and
familiarize players with automatic ledge grabbing
and climbing back up which the protagonist does with
grunts and groans, wading, and grabbing onto a pole
in order to avoid being washed away by waves (Press
and hold R1 when next to a pillar). After completing
the training missions, you're ranked on how your
performed and booted back to the menu.
* Start a NEW GAME and you may opt for EASY or
NORMAL difficulty. The character is shown as a guy
in a hotel outfit with an auburn apron on. After
naming your hero, the game boots the intro to the
game where the camera homes in on an island while
rain patters downwards. The streets are wet and
crash splash water up. A new city development and
the infrastructure is shown on a architect's
rendering. As the rain continues to fall, the drains
overflow and the body of water near city begins to
fill up The camera shoots inside a department store
or a hotel of some sort while Christmas music plays.
The camera enters a room where the mayor in a yellow
suit is giving a presentation to press while people
mill around. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling and
white Christmas trees with lights dot the floor.
Your character and another hotel worker are in the
back observing the proceedings. Once you're handed
control of the waiter, you get to work the room,
listen in on conversations, talk to the hedgehog in
a Santa outfit, and roam around while the murmur of
the crowd is heard in the background.
* While running around, you may observe chefs
seemingly putting food out (although their tongs
don't hold anything), a woman on the floor looking
for something, people milling around, photographers
on stage appearing to take photos, coworkers
working, and other sights that one is apt to see at
a gathering. To proceed, help the woman find the
trinket she's looking for by kneeling on the carpet
and picking up the little glittering thing. She'll
tank you when you give it to her.
* In the Loading Screen of the black, puddles form
on a water body.
