NDS Tenchu Dark Shadow JPN

NDS Tenchu Dark Shadow - New Import / In Stock
«©NCSX» In previous Tenchu games, Rikimaru and Ayame killed their targets by stealthy approach and direct blade-to-flesh contact. For the Nintendo DS, From Software adds a new way of killing enemies - traps. In Tenchu Dark Shadow, Rikimaru may lay an explosive trap and then lead or force a foe on top of it. Once the bomb is triggered, a massive explosion sends the hapless target airborne. Bamboo skewers in a box may also be set which kill by way of fast moving spikes that jet out when invoked. Green poison gas traps choke an enemy to death. Wicked trap combinations may also be set to perform powerful doses of guaranteed death. Of course, good old fashioned butchery is always available to dispatch foes to their next lives. <more>

«©NCSX» There is much knowledge in this world that is beyond the reach of the masses. D3 Publisher knows this and they reveal one secret in Simple 2000 Vol. 96. Our story begins here.
Unknown to most peasants, ghost ships sail the high seas in search of victims. Manned by skeletal warriors, zombies, or ghosts, the ships attack anyone hapless enough to cross them. To combat the threat of shadowy buccaneers, a swashbuckling pirate in swishy trench coat boards ghost ships and uses both cutlass and pistol to decimate the population on board. With each kill, the pirate gathers the souls of the newly departed. <more>

PS2 Pro Yakyuu Netsu Star JPN

PS2 Pro Yakyuu Netsu Star 2006 - New Import / In Stock
«©NCSX» Namco has thrilled baseball fans with video gaming representations of the national pastime since 1986. The first game in the fabled Famista series was Pro Yakyuu Family Stadium where pudgy and pixelated players took the field. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Famista, Namco includes a 2006 remake of the original game in Pro Yakyuu Netsu Star 2006 which features updated team data, players stats, and the same 8-bit player graphics from two decades ago. To freshen up the visuals a bit however, Namco includes visually modern astroturf, bases covered with dirt and a scoreboard with crisp advertising logos splashed across it.

Baseball season started last week in Japan and Namco ships their annual game dedicated to the sport which features all 12 Japanese professional teams and 13 stadiums. There's also 2 local stadiums for a total of 15 ballparks to play in. After trying a few innings of the Famista 2006 remake and then a full game of Netsu Star 2006, the high gloss presentation and energy of the new game is like a blaring freight train compared to the Ford Fiesta that is the original. It is all the more striking then that the Famista 2006 remake is highly enjoyable in its simplicity and nuances. <more>

PS2 Pro Yakyuu Spirits 3 JPN

PS2 Pro Yakyuu Spirits 3 - New Import / In Stock
«©NCSX» The 2006 baseball season is still young in both Japan and the USA and Konami makes sure that they capture some of the fan mindshare with the latest edition of their flagship baseball franchise. Boys of summer from all 12 professional Japanese teams battle each other over the course of nearly a year in a pennant race. The best of the best win a ring, a monetary bonus and adulation... and the cycle begins anew in the spring.

Pro Yakyu Spirits 3 features updated 2006 team and player data as well as the managers of each professional team. The likenesses of the players and managers to their real world counterparts is very good and it's clear that Konami's developers invested a good amount of resources into making the game look and feel like a television broadcast. Quick camera shots, flashy sequences, and commentator snippets all contribute to the realistic presentation and gloss of the game. Player modes include a standard 1-Player game, 2-Player versus, and a 2-Player versus COM exhibition. In addition to playing a game where all of the players are controlled directly, a management simulation mode is also available where gamers direct the players from the sidelines instead of taking a hands-on approach. <more>

PS2 The Block Kuzushi Quest JPN

PSP The Block Kuzushi Quest  - New Import / In Stock
«©NCSX» Seven mythical monsters and their underlings are wrecking the peace in the world. They must be stopped and a single champion in the form of a winged dragon takes to the skies on a mission of destruction. By invading and smashing the destructive beasts on their home turf, our heroic dragon works to bring peace back in the world. It won't be easy however and much skill and deft handling is required to attack enemies and fend off their counterattacks.

D3 Publisher's series of "The Block Kuzushi" games on the original Playstation and the PS2 are based on parent company Taito's Arkanoid brand where a paddle smacks a ball at blocks in the distance. Anyone who's ever played PONG or Breakout will find the game format familiar.

The Block Kuzushi games have been met with acceptable sales through the years. When NCS uses the word "acceptable," we imply that sales have been good enough to goad D3P into creating more Block Kuzushi games since they're guaranteed a certain return on investment for the company. For the PSP version of Block Kuzushi, a quest is dreamt up by the developers to accompany the action where a winged dragon paddle bats power balls at colorful blocks as well as big bosses that attack with vigor and special blasts. The aim of the game is to always keep the ball in play while defending the lower area of the screen. If the ball escapes, <more>

PS2 Symphonix Poem E7 JPN

PSP Symphonic Poem Eureka Seven - New Import / In Stock
«©NCSX» Renton Thurston and his grandpa Axel are outside in the evening air when they spy an LFO (Light Finding Operation) mech with red trim. As it sails gracefully through the sky on a reflection board,  the 14-year old Renton Thurston stares at it with awe. A few seconds later, the LFO loses its graceful demeanor and sputters awkwardly as it proceeds to crash. The ensuing blast wave blows Renton and Axel off their feet and onto their backs. A hatch opens on the LFO and a young girl emerges from the mech which is none the worse for wear. She addresses the two Thurstons, asking for help in repairing her mech. Renton ogles the girl and hisses, "Kawaii..."

The game proper begins indoors where Renton stands at the top of some stairs and the LFO stands in repose on the left side of the screen. It's massive and dwarfs the lad. He rushes over to the mech and assesses that it's a Nirvash type Zero and talks to himself in excited tones. Soon afterwards, Eureka enters the room and engages Renton in short conversation. When Renton is near something that he can investigate, a square icon command that shows Renton peering through a magnifying glass spins up above him and he may investigate the LFO and the bottom of the stairs. If he goes near Eureka, a chat icon spins out and he may start a conversation. Interaction scenarios show the portraits of the characters as they talk and their dialogue appears in boxes below them. Renton learns a little more about Eureka during their talk and gets bashful at <more>
