«©NCSX» Square Enix has opened preorders for two more FFXII product tie-ins - the first is a Zippo lighter with the Judgemaster logos etched on the front of the metal for ¥12000 or US$120 from NCS. The second product is a recreation of Vann's necklace with eye catching design, silver pendant, and shiny inset blue stones. Pricing is set at ¥17000 or US$175 from NCS.

«©NCSX» In a bid to upgrade the mighty Metal Slug series, SNK Playmore celebrates the 10th anniversary of SLUG by starting preorders for a 3D version of the game. Instead of side scrolling action, heavily armed grunts run and jump in rendered environments which afford freedom of movement.
   Since Contra made the jump to 3D a couple of years ago with Neo Contra, we're guessing that SNK Playmore felt that it was time to move on as well. It remains to be seen if Metal Slug will eventually go back to 2D if MS3D is botched. Preorders ship on July 29, 2006.

   A PS2 conversion of the cel-shaded 3D fighting game ships on June 29 at a measly US$65 from NCS. Fighters bout in 3D battlefields where the camera effortlessly zooms in and out of the action as super saiyan range near and far while punching, zooming, and firing off projectile attacks.

«©NCSX» Invitations fly out to the usual gang of fighters and many familiar faces answer the call for another KOF tournament. Mai Shiranui boycotts the latest "Mother of All Fighting Games" but a trio of new faces and Duck King from the old school join the ranks in SNK Playmore's upcoming Atomiswave to PS2 conversion. The fighting systems in play have been updated with Skill Stocks, Dream Cancels, a blowback move that deserves its own button, and other newfangled changes that will provide grist for gamers to chew through, execute and master. Preorders ship on June 22, 2006.

The PS2 game features 3D grappling action where Mao faces off against other she-devils in the ring as well as training exercises where she rousts groups of Yakuza, a bear, and street goons.

 NEWS Black Cat Cosplayers Unite - Preorder / Ships May 20
«©NCSX» Individuals with a hankering for some Train Heartnet cosplay are in luck. Japanese manufacturer Cospa has started preorders for a Train jacket and inner shirt which are painstakingly modeled after the clothing worn by the elite assassin turned bounty hunter. Pricing is dear however with the ensemble going for ¥34,000 or US$300 from NCS.

   The four circular donuts on the front of the jacket aren't edible. Nor are they donuts. They're made of a sponge-like polyester material which is light enough to allow for free flowing drape and movement when one sashays and poses for the camera. The jacket is made of gabardine fabric and the inner shirt is made of wrinkle-free polyester and has a v-neck collar.

   To break a cosplayer's piggy bank even further, Cospa is also accepting preorders for Train Heartnet pants which are made of sheer polyester material for comfort and clinging tension to your buttocks. Since Train cuts such a willowy silhouette, tight and form fitting clothing is a requisite to create the right look. The pants are priced at ¥11,000 or US$105.

   Preorders will ship on May 20, 2006. Please note that the jacket, shirt, and pants are all available in SS, S,. M, and L sizes but a Japanese Large is not the same as a USA Large. For example, a Large Jacket measures 36" across the chest and a Large pair of pants measures ~35" at the waist.

«©NCSX» NCS examined the Japanese fascination with poo last month with our little product description for the BoBoBoo Toilet from Epoch. The company strikes again this month with a delightful gashapon toy known as The Egg and Unchi.

   When cracking open an egg over a frying pan, one expects a creamy semi transparent substance known as albumin and a yellow yolk to plop downwards. No one expects a dark and ill-mannered piece of fecal matter... but there it is. The snarky toy engineers at Epoch have only included one such beast in the gashapon set of five - the other four consist of a standard egg with single yolk, an egg with a rare double yolk, a tomato, and a strawberry colored piece of unchi which may be mistaken for a Carvel Ice Cream sundae. Preorders ship in July 2006, in Japan. Although the Unchi's drawing power is strong, NCS won't be stocking this item.
