«©NCSX» Rotund and somewhat of a rascal, Doraemon is a robotic cat from the future who has been assigned with the task of keeping the awkward Nobita Nobi on the straight and narrow. Hilarity ensues.

   To celebrate the light hearted atmosphere and music of Doraemon, manufacturer Jun Planning has started preorders for a Doraemon Jambox which features the cast of five main characters in ragtime costumes and bright blinking lights. Doraemon's the leader of the band while Nobita's on the saxophone and Shizuka has piano duty. Eight tunes are included in the Jambox and a volume control lever is located in the front of the unit. When the music blares out of the built-in speaker, the members of the band move and "play" their instruments while onlookers stare in abject wonder.

«©NCSX» Depictions of Gamera in popular culture are normally of a gnarled and rugged monster equipped with tusks and a raggedy shell. Dark, dank, and seemingly musky, Gamera isn't cheery... even when he saved Akio and Tom from the Terrans in Gamera vs Guiron (1969). That is, until now.

   Play Set Products has opened up preorders for a vinyl Gamera doll which features a rounded creature with bright eyes and a toothy smile. A quaint jagged shell that's colored a cheery yellow hue adorns the back of the strangely adorable creature and provides sharp contrast against its well-tanned hide. Gamera Toto measures 12cm tall and is priced at Y4800 of US$55 from NCS. Preorders will ship in mid-late July 2006. 
 

 

 

TOY Bunny Girl Repaint JPN
 TOYS Monsieur Bome Vol. 7 Repaint - Preorder / Ships May 2006
«©NCSX» Kayodo has started preorders for a repaint version of Bunny Girl which ships next month. When NCS received the original version of Bunny Girl back in November '05, we mused that a white/blue repaint would be desirable. We got white leggings, armlets, and matching bunny ears but Kayodo went with a black bustier. Her bowtie is blue so we sort of got everything we wanted. Bunny Girl also goes from pink-haired lassie to blonde bombshell. The production quantity is limited to 3333 units.
Original NCS Write-up
   Japanese sculptor Bomé continues his streak of creating sexy representations of the female anime form with another figure. Bomé takes a pink-haired pin-up gal from artist NAS-O and crafts her into a sleek and wiry objet d'art that just happens to be perched on a stool.
 
 

TOY Valkyrie VF-1S Hikaru JPN

«©NCSX» Yamato has opened preorders for a new production of the Hikaru Ichijo Macross VF-1S 1/48 scale Valkyrie which was originally released in 2004. The reproduction is scheduled to ship in mid-late May 2006.

   Macross prodigy Ichijo Hikaru jets and battles the Zentraedi in a VF-1S Valkyrie decorated with red trim and the Skull & Crossbones insignia. Analogous to other 1/48 scale Valkyries, Hikaru's vehicle is made of both die-cast metal and plastic parts.

   Due to importation delays, the majority of this week's new imports and restock products are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. All three colors of the NDS Lite will also ship to backorders tomorrow.
Mother 3 Bundle
   There appears to be a shortage of the M3 bundle but we expect our shipments to arrive on Friday or Monday. We will update customers once they are in and ready to ship. Preorders are closed at this point but we will post an update if additional supplies become available. 
ASC Guitar Controller
   Konami has a bunch of slots still open for the ASC Guitars. We increased our preorder quantity last night and additional preorders are welcome.
